Ricky sat comfortably in his bed and scrolled through his phone. It was a regular friday evening and school had been quite uneventful. Now he looked forward to a peaceful night, watching a movie, eating some good food, and just rest.

"I think I told you this yesterday, but I'm going to stay at Gunwook's place over the weekend. I'll be back on tuesday cause we don't have school on monday." Ricky looked up at his roommate, Gyuvin, and nodded.

Gyuvin got up from his bed and went over to his desk to brush through his hair and put on some cologne. "Don't make a mess while I'm gone." He jokingly said and they both laughed. Gyuvin is the one who's worse between the two of them when it comes to keeping things clean and tidy.

Ricky could smell Gyuvin's faint scent as he walked past his bed. Gyuvin was an alpha and Ricky had always loved his scent, although he never told him as that would kind of reveal the fact that he wasn't a beta. Omegas and alphas are the only ones who can sense and get affected by scents and pheromones, betas can't.

Betas are as close as you can get to a human. This means that they not only aren't able to smell others scents, but they also don't have one themselves.

If this doesn't ring any bells, to explain the situation further; Ricky is an omega. He has been taking suppressants to hide this secret from everyone. Of course he feels bad about lying to his friends, especially Gyuvin, but he really can't risk anything.

Omegas are quite rare, so if news about Ricky being one were to spread, he would be an immediate target for alphas. So to prevent him from having alphas pounce on him every time he goes out in public, he decided to take suppressants to block his scent and to prevent him from going into heat.

The heat cycle is different for all omegas. In actuality, Ricky goes into heat once every season. Winter, spring, summer and fall. It's now winter and he's been taking heat suppressants since winter last year. This means that it's already been a whole year since his last heat.

If an omega doesn't go into heat in over a year, the next time they do, it will be quite painful and last longer than a regular heat. This has been in the back of Ricky's head for a while now.

During the past week he could feel something lingering inside of him, a sign that his heat was getting very very close. He became anxious at the thought of going into heat and getting caught by Gyuvin. However, at the news of his roommate being gone for three days, that worry quickly left Ricky. He knew his heat was most definitely supposed to come and it lasted for about 2-3 days. So now he could just wait it out without being caught. It was perfect!

Of course, going into heat wasn't a pleasant experience alone, but he had done it before, so he should be just fine. As long as it's not too harsh. He was actually a little worried that he would be affected by Gyuvin's pheromones in their dorm room.

Ricky sat up properly in his bed and watched as Gyuvin grabbed his bag and swung it over his shoulder. "Call me if something happens." He said before waving goodbye and closing the door.

Ricky laid down in his bed again and sighed. He hadn't been alone in their dorm in a while. It was very much needed though, he could already feel the slight discomfort starting to build up in his body.
