Gyuvin, top student at his high school, couldn't ask for a better life. He's entering his last year and his future is gleaming of career opportunities. Not only is he academically gifted, but also looks-wise. He's tall, has a small handsome face, broad shoulders, lean physique. For that reason, Gyuvin has always been popular. I mean come on, handsome and smart? He can't even count on his ten finger how many confessions he get in just a month.

Gyuvin was expecting another great year in high school, his last one at that. But when his friend announces a newcomer, he's suddenly feeling like snapping his pen in half. "I just overheard the teachers talking, there's coming a new student!" Gunwook sat down in his seat in front of Gyuvin. Normally Gyuvin's not really interested in other students except for Gunwook and Yujin, his closest friends. He shrugged his shoulders and nodded, uninterested. But what Gunwook said after had his ears perked up.

"Apparently he aced his entrance exam, not a single question wrong. He was also top student at his school in China and in the US as a kid." China? US? Gyuvin could feel his eye start twitching. "You alright? Scared he'll take your throne, your majesty?" Gyuvin nonchalantly rolled his eyes, attempting to look uninterested. "Pft, yeah yeah, whatever." He shrugged Gunwook away when the teacher entered the classroom.

"Alright, quiet down class, I want to introduce someone, Ricky please come in." Gasps and chatters immediately spread through the classroom and Gyuvin gulped. It was now that it really hit him. He's got some serious competition. Not only in academics but also physically. This guy was unreal. He was tall, but slightly shorter than himself. His skin was milky white and looked smooth even from far away. His hair was dyed platinum blonde making him look like he jumped straight out of a manhwa.

Gyuvin's breath hitched when he stared at the guy. He couldn't believe it. This handsome guy's gonna take his place, he can not let that happen. "Please, introduce yourself." The teacher gestured for Ricky to step forward, to which he complied. He bowed slightly and quickly scanned the room. "Hello, my name is Ricky and I recently moved here from China, nice to meet you." He had an obvious accent, but a good vocabulary.

The teacher instructed Ricky to sit at the desk diagonally next to Gyuvin. He must've felt Gyuvin's cold stare because he turned around and locked eyes with him. Gyuvin got flustered and looked away. God he was so beautiful. No, he can't think like that. This guy is now his enemy and he will do absolutely everything to keep his spot as top student, even if it means eating coffee grinds.

Gyuvin was obviously not serious about that last part, so when he saw Ricky pull out a packet of coffee grinds and down it like it's protein powder, he was chocked to say the least. "Apparently he doesn't want to waste time going to the toilet, so he eats it just like that to stay energized." Gunwook had turned his chair around and was now facing a flabbergasted Gyuvin. "Kind of intimidating." Yujin said from behind. Gyuvin felt his eye twitch, staring holes into the blonde's neck who peacefully scribbled in his notebook.

When Gyuvin already thought the new guy was absolutely mental, he was proven right a couple of days later. As class ended and the students scattered across the classroom, Gyuvin once again found himself staring at the studyfreak. "Aren't you a little too obsessed?" Gyuvin looked at Yujin who sat behind him. "Huh What do you mean?" Yujin nodded his head toward Ricky and Gyuvin gave him a brazen look before turning around again.
