"Oh my god! You guys should have seen it. I killed that try out," Emmy grinned as she recounted her first day at Cobra Kai.
"Yeah. And you killed my back," Miguel jokingly clutched his lower back, and she slightly shoved him.
"Not my fault," she simply said, sticking a straw into her juice box. "You're a lot lighter than you look. I could have knocked you over with my pinky finger."
Emmy held up her pinky finger, shoving it in his face as a way to mock.
"Ha, ha. I get it," he brought down her pinky, holding it between his thumb and pointer finger. "Beginner's luck."
She snorted, bringing both of their hands down. "That's what are sore losers say."
He gapped at her. "I'm not a sore loser."
"Sure," she raised her voice and octave, laying her hand flat on her chair. That's when she felt something and looked down, still seeing Miguel's fingers intertwined with her pinky and she blushed.
"Why are you so red?"
Her head snapped up, and her free hand felt around her face. She internally cringed at the feeling of heat coming from it. "What? No I'm not."
From the corner of her eye, she can see Miguel leaning in closer to her, and her hand felt her face heat up even more. "He's right. You're really red. You feeling okay?"
His hand pulled away from her pinky, and raised it up to tough her forehead, but Emmy quickly swatted it away. "Don't touch me. I'm fine. It's just hot in here."
"Mhm," Demetri raised his eyebrows at her.
"Whatever. I'm gonna go get cold water. You know. Cause it's hot in here," Emmy stood up from her seat.
Miguel then stood up from his. "I'll come with. There's something I want to talk to you about."
Her feet stopped, gave a nervous chuckle. "Okay."
"I totally forgot to tell you, but we got a new student!" Miguel immediately began to say as they walked away from the table and towards the vending machine.
Emmy copied his smile. "Really? That's awesome! Who? Please don't say Kyler, Yasmine, or even Sam."
He laughed at her. "It's none of them. Do you know Aisha?"
"Aisha Robinson?" Emmy's eyes widened, and he excitedly nodded. "Wow. Good for her. What karma it is for this school once she learns how to kick Yasmine's ass. Maybe even give her a front wedgie and split her in two."
They both paused in front of the vending machine, Emmy pulling a dollar bill while Miguel looked at her oddly. "Why is that your first response? God, now I know why you and Sensei get along so well. You guys are the same person."
As she pressed a button, she turned to him. "And I will take that as a compliment. Sensei Lawrence gets me and encourages my rage fueled behavior. I say, he's a saint."
