District 9 isn't known for excelling in The Games, throughout the entire history of The Games you could count their Victors on one hand; most of those wins were simple luck. And out of all of those Victors, only one is still living - Kit Anson. Although if you were one to pay attention to the rumours surrounding the man, he wouldn't be all that useful of a Mentor. Disappointingly, most weren't true, he only had two arms and still possessed both his legs. Some of which were true, he was a friend of Haymitch Abernathy, which meant he loved a drink or two, or fifteen.
Having endured decades of patting kids on the back and wishing them a quick and relatively painless death, Kit was unsure about the girl who had The Capitol wrapped around her finger from the moment they saw her. Her flowing blonde hair, pink, pouty lips, flushed cheeks and long legs; it sucked all the men and women into her trance. They were drawn to the girl, the innocence she portrayed was seductive. Despite her circumstances she still had a sweetness about her that you couldn't help but be drawn to, although Kit was witness to it slowly fizzling out during her time in the arena and when she realised you never escape The Games. She became someone who would go to the ends of the Earth to hold her family together.
But her already small family began to get caught up in the whirlwind Snow created when she tried to push back against the regime. Snow ensured he stripped everything Rosemary ever held dear, trying to mould her into someone who benefited him, he wanted a token, and who better for it than a girl who shared a name with his favourite flower? He took and he took, until she only had the man she loved.
Finnick became the person she fought for, fought to come back to.
Where everyone else saw an innocent girl who got corrupted and turned into a Seductress, he saw who she really was - someone she kept under lock and key for fear of someone trying to destroy every piece of her.
