i was once told that lemons are good for your eyes
without hesitation, i bought one and tried
it is bright as the sun and sweet to the scent
an ingredient to every dish that possess such savour
yet i'm no food so the zest burned me with no mercy
i abide the pain that's no similar
when i saw his lips in a different person's warmth
now i know why lemons are good for your eyes
especially when you just wished to go blind
