Ludwig's POV

He held a stack of papers tightly in his hands as he walked down the halls. He sneaked past the guards and slipped into a concealed hallway, looking around before retreating further down. He came to a door that had his symbol on it—a trademark for every koopaling in this castle—and pushed it open. The room was slightly messy, scores scattered along the floor with some furniture even being ripped. In the middle stood a black piano covered with dust.

He walked closer and took out a wipe, coughing every now and then when the dust would enter his system. After 20 minutes he was finished, and sat down on the furniture with a grunt. He took much pride in this piano, after all it had been with him ever since he was a little koopa.

His eyes trailed over the wear and tear on the sides of the piano legs, making a note in his head to replace the material later. He picked up the stack of papers and picked out a few before setting them down on the music desk of the piano.

He sat down on the stool, his body trembling from excitement as his clawed fingers touched the keys. Immediately after a few seconds a melodious tune sounded throughout the room.

His eyes were closed as he concentrated, his expression relaxed and peaceful. Memories of the past slowly infiltrated his mind, but he paid them no attention after all an emotional response to a song played via piano was natural.

However the tune was interrupted as Ludwig froze in shock. His eyes were as wide as saucers as he looked down at the piano blankly. A strange sense of crisis telling him to back away from the piano, but he snapped out of his little trance before he could get far.

He let out a shaky exhale and decided to call it quits for tonight and head back to his sleeping quarters.
