I didn't sleep well the rest of the night. The memory of the nightmare was haunting. Not to mention the weird moment with Cade. I laid awake staring at the ceiling wondering why god hated me. Light began pooling into my room showing that dawn had arrived. I sluggishly pulled myself out of the bed and walked into the bathroom. I stopped to glance at myself in the mirror and internally cringed. I had huge bags under my eyes. The color of charcoal, around my eyes were super puffy. My hair was disheveled and standing straight up from tossing and turning. It was evident I hadn't slept well. I pulled my clothes off and turned on the water to the large claw foot bathtub. Maybe a hot soak would make me feel better. I slid down in the tub and closed my eyes. The water was warm making the ache in my head ease up. I couldn't stop thinking about what the hooded man had said the day my father was killed. "He'll never stop looking for her. He'll find her no matter where she hides". The thought alone sent chills down my spine. It had only been 4 days since my father was murdered in front of my eyes. The imagine was imbedded in my brain like a tumor. I could still see the expression on his severed head. Mouth agape eyes wide stuck in a silent scream. After some time the water had become cold. I slowly rose out of the tub and wrapped a towel around my body. Stepping out of the bathroom I almost had a heart attack. Laying smack dead in the middle of my bed was a shirtless Colton.
"Um excuse me." I said.
Colton let out a gruff laugh and sat up taking his eyes over my body. I looked down realizing I only had a towel in and blushed.
"Can I help you. Your mom didn't teach you how to knock. " I said rudely.
Colton shrugged his shoulders.
"Actually mom sent me to find you. She said get ready. Leaving for shopping in 30 minutes. Something about it'll be a long day. Good luck when she shops she shops. You okay." He said sitting up a little.
I glanced at him. "I'm fine. Just didn't sleep well. Can you get out now so I can get dressed." I said
"I don't know. Maybe I'll stay while you get dressed." He replied flirty.
"Goodbye Colton" I said quite aggressively.
Colton lazily got off my bed rolled his shoulder and walked out the door. After he shut the door I walked further into the room to lock it. I turned around to get clothes when I realized I had only brought one change of clothes from my house. I sighed and sat at the desk chair. What a predicament this could be. I decided it would just be okay to put my clothes on from yesterday until Evelyn got me clothes today.
25 minutes later I was sitting in Evelyn's Cadillac on the way to something she called the York outlets. The scenery on the drive was gorgeous. Everything was green. There were a lot of wildflower on the route adding just enough color to brighten it up even more. Every house we passed was small compared to Evelyn's. They were mostly shaped funny and reminded me of something a hobbit would live in. We turned down a windy road and pulled into what appeared to be a mall. It was a 3 story brick building. A off white in color. The front had two big glass doors.
Evelyn got out of the car and began walking towards the entrance. I climbed out and followed suit. When we walked in there was a large hall with little stores on each side. Evelyn continued walking and disappeared into a store. I looked up at the sign that read "Victoria secret". I walked in the door and immediately got excite. So many bras and panties lined the store.
"Grab whatever you want. You're starting over. The panties are on sale 5 for $25 so grab at least 20 pairs and get yourself at least 5-10 bras. Don't worry about the price I promise we got it covered." Evelyn said.
I looked at her flabbergasted.
"That's a lot Evelyn are you sure" I asked her.
"Honey this is just the first stop it's okay. Get to it" she replied. She tuned around and waved a lady over. "Can you measure her please.
