After Colton left I headed to the bathroom. All that shopping had made me exhausted but now I had clean clothes so I decided to shower and actually freshen up. I turned the water to a good temperate and grabbed all the new toiletries Evelyn had gotten me. I stripped off my clothes and stepped into the shower. I started by wetting my hair and then grabbed the new shampoo. It was a brand I had never used before called biolage. It smelled super good and I know it had to be good because Evelyn paid a pretty penny for it. After shampooing and conditioning my hair I decided to shave. I shaved my legs and my armpits and my nether regions. Hey no shame it's not for anyone I just really hate hair anywhere except my head. I finished off by washing myself in the bath and body works soap called among the clouds. It smelled so good. I stepped out of the shower and applied the same scented lotion as the body wash. Evelyn really hooked me up and I decided that I'd have to find a way to pay her back eventually. I wrapped my towel around me and stepped out of the bathroom and into the closet. I grabbed a comfy pair of pink short shorts and a thin strapped pink tee. I'm not much of a pink girl but baby pink is fire. After getting dressed I laid in bed and stared at the ceiling. I could watch tv but I just wasn't feeling it. I was restless though. I looked to the bedside table and it read "2:49". Colton had been gone for two hours. It took me two hours to shower and get dressed. Wow. Okay then. Deciding I no longer wanted to lay in bed and I was to restless to sleep, I climbed out of bed and made my way to my door. A little exploring could be cool. I gently opened my door and stepped out. Evelyn's house was massive. I walked aimlessly through halls admiring the decor.
I'm not sure how long I had been walking but I had wondered outside to the garden. There were flowers of all types and colors. In the middle of the garden sat a beustiful fountain. It was large but somehow the water rushing was quiet. I looked up at the sky to see a million twinkling starts. I made my way to the center of the garden and sat on the side of the fountain. All the pain and anger and anxiety just came rushing out. I began sobbing uncontrollably. Hot tears rushed down my face and my head swarmed with unanswered questions. What was happening? Why was someone looking for me? Was I even safe here? The same time the thought entered my head I heard gravel shift. As if someone was walking. My heart thudded hard in my chest. My breathe caught in my throat. Fear filled my body and the images of my father/not father popped in my head. It's the middle of the night. Who would be out walking? I almost couldn't breathe. I slowly lifted myself up from my spot and slowly turned toward the noise. It was dark out aside from the moonlight. About 15 feet away from me I could make out a figure. I stood absolutely still. Afraid to make any noise. The figure turned in my direction. "Who's there" a voice said. I remained silent. Afraid of what would happen. "I'm not about to play with you. Who are you?" The voice spoke again. It took me a minute to process what they said. I knew that voice. It was the same voice I had found myself alone with the night before. I let out a shaky breath. "Cade" I asked lightly. Cade took a few steps forward. "Man what the hell are you doing out here. It's 3:00 in the morning. I almost just killed you" he replied. My heart was still beating out my chest but the anxiety and fear had subsided. I let out a slight laugh. "You really scared the crap out of me. I couldn't sleep so I was adventuring. And then I got lost and stumbled upon the garden. I just was thinking about things" I replied to Cade. He stepped a few steps closer and I could slightly make out his face. The moonlight showed his bright blue eyes perfectly. "You shouldn't be out alone. The world isn't safe. Especially for small females like you. Bad things happen even around here." He replied coldly. The tone of his voice made the hair on my arms and neck stand up. Out of instinct I stepped back. He looked at me with a smirk. "Afraid are you princess." He asked in a smart ass tone. "I'm not afraid. I'm just ready to go back in" I replied. I started walking towards him. I was about to step past him when he grabbed my bicep. Fear swarmed in me again. Why was he grabbing me? What was happening? I froze rooted to my spot. Cade leaned his head so his mouth was almost touching my ear. It gave me goosebumps. Whether it was fear or something else causing them I couldn't tell you. "I'd stop venturing around late at night if I was you. It's when the bad things happen. In the dark with no one around to help you. God only knows what would happen to a pretty girl like you" he whispered. The tone of his voice made my heart skip. Was he threatening me. I ripped my arm out of his grasp and walked inside. Shutting the door to the garden I took a sharp inhale of breathe. What the hell had just happened. Why was he acting so cold. He wasn't like this the night before when I was having a nightmare. This version of Cade seemed dangerous. Almost ruthless. I figure it's best to avoid him. For now. I somehow managed to make my way back to my room. Looking at the clock beside my bed it read 4:00. I had been out for a little over a hour. I crawled in my bed and let sleep overtake me. I fell asleep thinking of how my life had got so crazy over the last few days.
