Chapter 3
The concert was amazing. Life changing. I had the best time ever. I was upset when it was over, but kind of glad, too. The screaming was making my ears start to ring, and I was starting to get overwhelmed with all my thinking. I could've easily passed out. The girls and I started heading outside towards the parking lot, walking along the sidewalk in front of the stadium. We were constantly laughing and reciting funny lines from the concert, and we started to annoy ourselves. We were probably irritating others, too. I heard an uprise of screaming girls, and I immediately started looking for One Direction. It was just an instinct. A group of teens were running the opposite direction we were walking, so we turned around and curiously started following them.
We ended up walking halfway around the stadium, and we saw the huge purple One Direction tour bus parked in the back of the stadium. Girls were screaming and crowding it. Kayla and Madi squealed started to join the fangirling stampede, darting towards the bus and leaving me behind in the dirt. I wasn't really offended about the fact that they ditched me, so I continued walking towards the bus, hoping to find the boys. I made it the the huge huddle of screaming girls and started pushing my way towards the front, sometimes getting purposely pushed or hit by girls.
Finally I was close enough that I could see above a few girls to see what was happening. I saw the boys lined up in front of the tour bus, smiling for pictures and signing autographs for fans. I couldn't help but smile when Harry gave Zayn a 'wet willie'. I naturally kept looking over at Niall. He looked upset. He wasn't talking or having fun with the fans like the rest of the boys were. That wasn't like him at all. But after a while, I finally came back to reality and looked around me.
Crap. I thought. I lost Kayla and Madi. I started pushing girls out of my way again, searching for them. I stumbled out of the crowd and tried looking above heads.
I finally spotted fiery red hair on a head that was taller than the rest. I knew it was madi, so I started shouting her name. She never responded. I sat there like an idiot for about five minutes, shouting her name in different voices while people walked past me with looks on their faces. Her head finally whipped around and she spotted me. Her face lit up completely, and she started pushing girls out of her way. She dragged Kayla out of the crowd by her hand and jogged towards me
"Laura! We were so worried about you! A girl as small as you should not be left alone in a crowd full of crazed fans!" Madi panicked. I rolled my eyes.
"It wasn't my fault! You left me." I pointed out with a sharp tone. They grimaced at my snappy comment, and I just couldn't stay mad at them. I smiled a little, reassuring them that I wasn't really that mad. We started walking back to the parking lot towards Kayla's car (where her mom was taking a nap while we enjoyed the concert). Madi and I exchanged a funny look when Kayla took us to the back of her car.
Kayla was NOT kidding about camping out in front of the stadium. She had a tent and everything. We pitched the simple tent behind a couple other girls' camping spots. We took a couple trips to the tent from the car, carrying lots of stuff Kayla handed us.
"Thank goodness that's over." Madi said, plopping down on her sleeping bag. We decided to explore around for a minute. We said hi to the other girls who were also camping out, even though they didn't give very friendly responses. I realized how close we were to the front of the line. We were probably about the eleventh spot.
We went and talked to Kayla's mom about what the plan was. Kayla's mom thought it would be best if she camped out too, just to make sure we were okay. I loved her. She said she would sleep in the car that night, and would be keeping a close eye on our tent. At about one o'clock in the morning, we decided it was time to go to bed. It was hard to fall asleep...other girls were screaming and fangirling all night. I couldn't take it anymore, so I snuck Madi's iPod out of her pocket. I plugged in the headphones, and fell asleep to the voices of One Direction.
