Chapter 17
I was shaken awake by someone. My eyes fluttered open and I found Madi's face inches away from my face.
"Laura! Are you sleeeeeping?" she asked in a weird accent. I giggled. That was one of our childhood inside jokes. I shooed her face away from mine. I wanted to go back sleep. I kicked my feet around when Kayla started tickling my toes. I felt my legs brush against hard ground as I put forceful thrusts into my legs at Kayla. I realized I had ended up on the ground. I didn't see Niall anywhere though. Where was he?
I heard a loud groan behind me, then Madi's quiet giggles.
"Go away, Madi." I heard Niall's sleepy voice mutter right next to my ear. I felt a pair of arms tighten around my stomach. I think I found Niall. He had his arms wrapped securely around my waist from behind and our hands entertwined. I slightly smiled to myself. I was so lucky to have such a sweet boyfriend who would never leave my side, even at night. I kept my eyes shut as Madi stood up and started kicking our legs to get us up. After a while, I finally just gave up. I was wide awake by then anyway and wouldn't go back to sleep if I tried.
"C'mon, let's go Niall." I said. He groaned, but untangled himself from me anyway. The first place I went to was the kitchen. I was starving. I found Zayn and Louis making breakfast while everyone else was patiently chatting around the table. As I passed Louis and Zayn to join everyone at the table, I playfully kicked their butts with my foot.
"Morning, doofus." I greeted them. Louis glanced at me and smirked.
"Morning, puking beauty." he replied. I rolled my eyes and took my spot at the table by Lauren. She grabbed my hand tightly as soon as I sat.
"Are you okay? I heard about what happened last night." she whispered. I laughed and nodded.
"I'm feeling great now. Thanks for the concern." I said with a smile. She nodded and I joined the girls while they talked about their families. I had just realized I haven't seen my family forever. They probably didn't even know about Niall and me. I immediately ran and got my phone. There were no messages or missed calls from anyone in family. I rang up my Mom.
"Hello?" I heard her chime after three rings. I felt relieved.
"Mom!"
"Laura?"
"I miss you so much."
"We miss you, too."
"I stayed the night at Kayla's."
"I know. Everyone knows."
"What? How?"
"Celebrity news."
"You watch that?"
"Mmhm. I'm quite shocked." I was getting nervous. The celebrity news makes up some pretty insane stuff, and I could only imagine what they would've said about Niall and me.
"...Am I in trouble?" I asked nervously.
There was a long pause. I started biting my fingernails anxiously.
"Laura, you run off to a concert, get hit in the head and go to the hospital, hang out with this celebrity boy for a few days, then all of the sudden you're his girlfriend?"
I gulped. Oh, crap. She was going to kill me. I guess I'd better start packing up now to run away before she finds me.
"I'm so proud of you!" she exclaimed. My eyes widened in shock.
