Antonio
"Where is he?" I slammed the door to my Audi shut, glaring over at Ray, who leaned against a wooden fence with his arms crossed waiting for me. The sounds of dry wheat brushed against each-other as the wind swept through the empty fields, carrying a gush of warm wind. Despite being Spring, everything just seemed so...
Dead.
"Barn." Ray ticked his jaw before nudging his head over at the red barn house that stood tall and mighty further down in the distance. I was so fucking done with this shit. So done. Taking out a cigarette, I lit it and bit it between my teeth as I made my way towards the lone castle, hearing Ray trail behind me.
"Don't fucking tell me you killed him." I grunted and Ray made a light jog to catch up with me, sweat slightly dampening his face as he finally did.
"Nah... I'll let you have the fun of doing that when the time comes." Ray groaned out. "We got Luca down in the chair and he's been sitting on his ass all day. We've tried to get him to talk but his fucking mouth kept shut."
"Ah so he's gonna play that game?" The edge of my lips curved into a slight grin. "A bitch with no bark.."
"Complete asshole." Ray scoffed and stood in front of the barn doors, giving it three knocks. Two of my men were quick to make themselves known, dragging the wooden doors open before simply chaining them to the walls. The light from the glowing horizon shone down, illuminating the dark barn within and standing right in the middle of it was a young man, his clothes ripped slightly and his body a sweating mess. He glared at me before straining within his restraints.
"This is what you get for letting kids in on this business, Antonio. Mindless fucks who can't own up to their mistakes." Ray rolled his eyes and quickly shut up once I landed a harsh smack to the back of his head. I frowned watching him let out a grunt before walking into the barn.
Such unpleasant memories.
I cuffed up my sleeve before placing my hand on my holster. I've refrained from showing my gun to Alia, knowing it'll most likely make her uneasy and the familiarity of the discomfort it provided to my pants was not welcoming. "Marcus, Miguel. Out."
My two men were quick to follow my instructions, waiting for Ray to join my side before excusing themselves, closing the barn door behind me. With a simple flick of the light, I looked down to see Luca, shame written all over his face. My head turned to look at Ray, giving him a nod which told him to stay quiet throughout this ordeal. The man followed my orders, leaning up against the wooden doors as my eyes fell back down on Luca.
"Luca." I muttered, taking out a wooden stool from the corner of the barn before setting it down in front of him, making myself comfortable. Luca was a quiet boy, and I know if I tried anything too 'violent', it'll only urge him to keep his lips sealed.
"Capo." Luca gave a nod, addressing me.
"How old are you, boy?" My eyes laid down on his figure. He was lanky, tall and had a bit of tough meat on those bones, usually due to the heavy cargo he's used to lifting and just by looking at the condition of his body, I could tell he came from a family of the lower class of society.
"17." Luca responded, his eyes studying mine. He was so young..
"17..." I took hold of my cigarette and pulled it out from between my teeth. With furrowed brows, my lips sealed and I exhaled a plume of smoke from my nose, looking down at the young boy. "So then I'm guessing you usually help with getting our shit across the border, correct?"
