Big house. Huge house.
Antonio's absolute wealth never failed to impress me. After last night's debacle, Antonio was quick to receive a call the following morning for a supposed family meeting... as if his father wasn't enough.
Pulling up at the manor, I glanced out the window, looking up at the spectacle of beauty and luxury that stood before me on its sturdy pillars. A beautiful and elegantly divine building that held years of history within its walls, as well as family secrets that no one dared to even touch.
With winter finally in place, the snow made its mark earlier this morning, blanketing the entire landscape with a fluffy throw of angelic snow that glistened under the sun. Not a cloud in sight and the forest trees surrounding us were stripped down bare to the bark, emphasising the manor's beauty.
Parking his car on the shovelled driveway, he stood out wearing his black trench coat, walking over to my side to open my door. If Antonio could live a life outside of crime, he'd make a hot fucking model with the way he's dressing up right about now. Since I barely had my closet filled with winter clothing, he humbly gave me his white trench coat that was tucked safely at the back of his car.
With a grateful smile, I took his hand and watched him pull me up, the coat dragging out before landing gracefully on the driveway. It was big—fucking massive and I comfortably styled it so it hung over my shoulders, giving a tease of the white strapless hem dress I wore underneath, along with knee high white leather boots. Almost deliberately, my body began to shiver.
"Fffuck.." I breathed out, sucking in a chilling breath of air as I tried to cover my body up with the trench coat. Antonio being an asshole, let out a shameless laugh and pulled me closer to close the door.
"Mia bella." He grinned. "I told you not to wear a short dress."
I let out a groan. "I wanted to look sexy." My body shivered and a white plume of my cold breath flew out from my mouth, turning my nose and cheeks red. "Do I look sexy?"
"Very." He responded with a grin, rubbing my back before leading me up to the stairs of the manor. "You make it so hard for me everyday."
A teasing and flustered giggle left my lips, watching him glance over at the two bodyguards that guarded the front door before giving them a nod. The two exchanged looks once their sights landed on me and without a word, opened the two door entrance to us.
Luxury. Power. That's all this place screamed incessantly into my face.
Hearing the heels of my boots tap against the tiles, I looked around in awe as marble rode up the pillars of this fine beauty, history making its mark on each brick and nail placed into the scaffolding. A beautiful stair case made its powerful stance, quickly separating into two as my eyes ran up its length. The Bishops were definitely powerful people—no wonder Antonio carried such a high level of authority in his wake.
Although Antonio reminded me that no one lived here, I was surprised to see a lot of maids running all over the place, making sure everything is spotless. It's clear this place is a sort of sanctuary to the family, if not maybe a safe-house.
"Stay next to me, baby." Antonio muttered. "And if any of my men gawk, let me know."
"Antonio..." I give him a shake of my head, watching a meek little grin form on his face. Kissing my forehead, he led me towards a huge office. It was pretty traditional, everything neat and the office was filled with things such as a large book shelf covering the full length of a wall, as well as a cozy lit fireplace and a sleek office desk that sat before a huge glass window.
