You could feel the tension begin to rise in the van as all the tributes stare at the man, before anyone can speak up, a tall dark boy stood protectively next to another young girl speaks up, spitting venom at the man. "You get in the wrong cage?" He snarls at him raising a brow. The blonde man shakes his head, "no this.. this is lovely." Before anyone can speak up, the man grabs the blonde one pushing him against the wall, the rest of the tributes begin to shout, jeering for the man named "reaper" to kill the Capitol boy.
Treech had began shouting to, wanting to see the Capitol boy face punishment for what his people was doing to you, to all of you. Even though you didn't want to, you couldn't help but not mind the idea of Treech beating the poor boy to a pulp. But before he could land a blow, the girl dressed in rainbows spoke up. "You better not. He's my mentor so you best leave him alone." She snaps glaring daggers into Reaper, who slowly lets go of him backing down.
The girl with short red hair speaks up with a growl staring at the girl in rainbows in disgust. "And why should you get special treatment. Someone to take care of you." The girl who came from the same district as Reaper nodded along. "Yeah.. why does she get a mento? And not the rest of us?"
You couldn't help but nod in agreement. If this girl got special treatment from the Capitol that would mean she would hold on edge over all of you, despite her small from it would increase her odds rapidly. Snow however shook his head.
"It's mentors, not mentos and all of you get one, someone who will guide you through the games to victory and hopefully success in the games." You couldn't help but scoff at that causing everyone's eyes to fall towards you. "As if you care enough for our survival... there's got to be a catch." You snap
Snow stares at you for a moment before nodding his head. "Sort of, there's a.. small cash prize." But before he could finish his sentence, the van begins to rip sending you all over to the doors off the van, you land hard onto the door slamming your back into the handle as you let out a sharp cry. Treech, who lands next to you, wraps an arm around you pulling you off the handle into his arms, misses as the doors fling open, sending you all falling down at least 15ft down from the air.
You land with a sharp thud onto someone. "I'm so sorry!" You look at the boy recognising it to be the same one who was with the little girl. He blinks at you rolling his eyes. "Whatever." He uses his one arm to push himself up quickly moving to the little girls side pull on her up.
You feel hands clasp your shoulder, your gaze shoots up to Treech who's hat sits now lopsided on his head as he eyes you. "Are you ok? Your not hurt are you?" He worries helping you stand. You rub your hip from where you landed in the van before shaking your head. "No.. no. I'm ok. I landed on that poor boy, used him as a whoopy cushion." You said embarrassingly. Treech lets out a small chuckle raising his brow. "I'm surprised you didn't crush him." You scoff hitting his arm, hard.
You bring your gaze from Treeches before looking around at the new environment. It was full of shrubbery, and benches. Made of white marble similar to the train station. But the most defining feature of the scene, were the large steel bars, trapping you inside, as opposed to the people outside the cage from the Capitol peering in, staring at you and whispering amongst themselves.
You shrink behind treech. "I feel like an animal..." you murmur squirming under the gaze of the people. Treech glares at them harshly yanking your hand over to a bench. "Here, it's enough out of the view by that tree." He then sits next to you, slumping forward.
"Your head still looks like shit." You try to joke nudging him. He only lets out a huff of a laugh staring at Snow and the girl he was mentoring speaking to, a loud, strange looking man. "Will we have to do that? Speak to that... freak?" He whispers in your ear. You only nudge him again. "Don't be mean!" You laugh leaning weight into his side. He lets out another huff. "Look at him! I bet you anything I have that's a wig." Your gaze moves to the peacekeepers coming into the cage to grab Snow. "No way. It's two tight on his head if it is." You chuckle quietly.
"We're gonna be ok, right?" You ask Treech as you stared around at all the other tributes. He looks at you for a long moment before answering. "We can do our best."

Later in the day, not many more mentors come by, "Coriolanus Snow" you had learnt his name was, arrives with another boy, who begins to call for Marcus, the boy from district two. Another girl is sat on the ground teasing the girl from district ten with water reaching it close enough for her to grab only to then yank it away from her grip.
You let out a heavy huff, no one had come for you or treech. He sits tensely, his eyes never leaving the mentors near the cage, only really ignoring Coriolanus Snow. You frown reaching a hand out, but stopping yourself, deciding that now isn't the time to comfort him.
Yet before you can say anything, a sound of smashing, glass. Rings off of the bars as the district ten girl, in a fury breaks it, slamming it into her mentors throat, before shoving her away. Treech rises to his feet ready to move forward and grab the girl, as Coriolanus Snow quickly reaches out pushing the girl onto her back, applying pressure to her wound.
But before anyone could act, peacekeepers ran forward, bullets firing into the cage at all of you. Treech moves faster though, shoving you down behind the bench pulling you close to him. Another round of bullets fire and You let out a cry of fear as a bullet grazes over your head.
Once they stop, you move to sit up, only to have Treech grab you. "Don't you dare!" He hisses yanking you back down. "It's not safe yet." Instead of sitting up, you choose instead to peak round the bench, only to see the district ten girl with multiple bullet holes in her body, one in her forehead, laying flat on the ground, choking on her blood as it leaves her mouth.
You gasp putting a hand over your mouth as Treech then peaks out. He realises the scene and moves backwards quicker than you did. You both stay there. For another ten minutes before you see Dill, move from behind the tree despite Reapers commands to come back. You follow her lead peering out only to see, nothing. Everyone had fled, and the peacekeepers had returned to their posts.

Treech had fallen asleep, his head resting ontop of your shoulder, his hat placed gently in your lap as you fiddled with the rim of it. You were still shaken up, it had taken the peacekeepers almost four hours to collect the body and by that point, a smell had begun to stick to the floor where the girl had died. You grimance at the memory, you hear a twig snap and you turn your head to come face to face with Reapers partner. She coughed into her hand holding out a flask for you. "I saw, you didn't drink or eat anything,. Nobody came for either of you either.." she whispers glancing over at treech before another cough escapes her throat. You smile nodding at her offering a quiet thank you, you gaze over her shoulder to Reaper who sits against the tree watching you both interact wearily. "Don't worry about him.. he's just, nervous. He's not like it normally at home. He did say it would be nice of me to bring you two." She whispers again her face
Morphing into a saddened yet young look, you reach a hand out giving her shoulder a squeeze. "well thank you, both of you. Make sure to tell him that." You smile, nodding at Reaper, to which he returns the nod.She seems content with the reply, carefully stepping back over to him, coughing again into her hand, this time hunching over slightly. You simply shake your head, if she continued at this rate, you began to doubt she'd even make it into the arena...
You noticed a flash of red approaching the cage, and see Lucy Gray stand up. Carefully, and much more quiet then Dill, she moves to the cage to meet Coriolanus Snow, as they began to whisper to each other, you notice a shift behind her to see her partner, Jessup, sit up listening into their conversation. You let out a chuckle. Before leaning your head onto of Treeches, deciding to try and get some form of sleep.
