The Great, Least, Richer, Poor Part 7, Ch 33
Secret Child
At Genevieve/Julian-Fallon was on the phone when Genevieve entered the room, and Fallon hung up.
"Fallon, are you okay?" That was Rita. "They found the person who caused the car accident." "Who?" Jacob Greenwood. "Wow, he's just a young boy." "Yes. Fallon, are you okay?" "I'm trying to deal with my new life. How about you?" "I'm angry, not just with Will for hurting my daughter, but I'm also angry because my daughter let a man do this to her. I didn't teach Fallon this. I raised her as a strong woman." "She thought he loved her." "Yes. I have made mistakes as a mother. We aren't perfect, and I do have regrets too." Fallon, you're thinking about the baby, aren't you?" Jedediah came into the room.
"You have a child out there, Aunt Fallon." "Yes, I gave the baby up. I wasn't ready to be a mother when I became pregnant." "Do you want me to find you a child?" It was a girl. I don't know if she will be angry with me. I don't even know what happened to her father or who made most of the arrangements." "Yes, he did." Genevieve, do you know anything about her?" "No." Genevieve left.
"Aunt Fallon," "I'm not a bad person." "No, you're not."
Genevieve went into her father's office, opened the safe, and pulled out a file about Fallon's daughter.
At the police station—Rita, Cruz, Chloe, and Celeste were there when Jill and Jacob came in with the cop.
"Jacob," "I'm going to confess I did it. I wasn't high or drinking. I just was upset and driving fast, and I killed my father! We need to book you." "Do you have to? My son just made a mistake! Cruz, please." "Mother, it's going to be okay. I need to handle this." Jacob left.
"Celeste, I know my son made a mistake, but he doesn't deserve jail time. Jacob has to live with this." "Yes, he does." "Please, as a mother to another, let me get some air." Celeste left.
"Chloe, I'm sorry. I will not press charges." "Thanks. We are family, and I realize my daughter made mistakes too." "Yes."
Celeste was sitting outside, wondering what the right thing to do was when DJ came by.
"Mother, what is it?" "They arrested the driver who hit your father." "Who was it?" Jacob. "What?" "Yes." DJ, I'm angry, and I know you are too, but your father wouldn't want this."
Inside the police station-Rita was booking Jacob when Celeste and DJ came in.
"Rita, we aren't pressing charges." "Rita," "Jacob, I suggest you don't drive for a year." "Yes, Mama." "Thanks, everyone. It hurts that I killed my father, and I will have to live with that."
