Life is sweeter when you're around those you love
Or so I was told
It could have been a lie
I realized a long time ago
That as we get older the more we sigh
That as we get older we die
Slowly losing those around us we love
Cause as we get older so do others
So do others...
When I was younger I woke up giddy for holidays
Now I would rather spend them inside
Locked behind my bedroom door
To never leave
I would rather spend Christmas alone
Or so I thought
Now I have a girlfriend to warm I empty heart
To sneak inside and make me smile
I hated smiling forever
The thought that people could see my teeth
It angered me
Tore me up inside to out
Yet when she makes me smile
I don't mind her seeing my teeth
I could cry sure I could shut her out
I would rather not lie I would rather lie
Beside you as we spend the cold months
In each others embrace
There's 100 paper scraps from here to Ohio
That list the things I've always wanted to say
I just never got the nerve
I never got the chance
I would back out my text
The X and the arrow embrace one another
Backspace into the back of space
That space behind my eyes
Where you can never see the over thinking
What do you say?
Can we collect those scraps?
Even if it's just gradually?-Salem, inspired by Bishop
