"Oh golly gee they're gonna kill me" Test Tube mumbled, stumbling along the damp grass, with only the moonlight and her spotty somewhat fading vision to guide her. She looked behind quickly to make sure the door to her lab closed completely.
Her joints creaked as she walked, not caring how wet her feet got at this point as she was way too tired for it to be of any concern. Maybe her foggy vision was a bit of an issue since it was so dark out, still she needed to get home. The sooner she did the less likely lightbulb, fan, and especially paintbrush would shatter her glass as soon as she walked through the hotel room door.
Unfortunately for Test Tube she had promised the gang she would be back at the hotel by 9:30 so she could "keep herself healthy and not burn herself out blah blah blah blah" whatever she never really listened, she knew coming home at 3 am and getting herself a cup of coffee was really starting to tick them off however.
So she had promised to be back by 9:30 and as of when she stumbled onto the rock path that led to the hotel the time was....
12:78? No that's not right...
Her vision was foggy, she couldn't quite read the blaring red numbers on her wrist watch. Jesus she was exhausted, her eyelids felt like they were made of weights.
Upon reaching the entrance of the hotel she struggled to read the numbers on the coded lock that OJ had put in place, she was cursing her spotty vision as her mind danced with a pounding headache. She lifted her shaky hand to the keypad, she was shaking? She didn't even realize.
She finally managed to get the code right after a few tries, finally opening the door with a lot more force than she probably should have needed. The lights in the lobby were completely off, darkness surrounding the room, making Test Tube feel like she was being swallowed whole. Her legs ached as she stumbled into the living room, she felt dizzy and sick, maybe because she hasn't been eating for drinking for the past few days.
"Oh jeez" she mumbled, her voice also seemed to be shaking as she leaned against the wall to catch her winded breath. Her vision suddenly seemed to be blinded as she heard the click of a lamp, the bright yellow light making her headache worse.
"Are you even aware of what time it is?!" A hand gripped her shoulder and turned her around. She has to squint to see but she knew by the voice that it was definitely paintbrush, the heat of their bristles beginning to catch fire could be felt warming up her face a tad.
"No..." she mumbled quietly, if you weren't paying close attention you almost wouldn't have heard her at all.
"It's 12:30 in the Godamn morning!!" They screamed as fan sighed and grabbed their arm gently.
"Paintbrush seriously having one of your tantrums is no way to go about this", fan sighed before looking at Test Tubes exhausted sleep deprived demeanour, "it's been 3 hours since the set scheduled time you put in place to come home, what happened?" although Fan was trying to be the calmer one in this situation, the irritation in his voice was evident. She really couldn't blame him, fan had always been one who liked his patterns and schedules, Test Tube not so much.
"Omga tube gal, you look about ready to fall into dreamland" she felt a soft hand rest onto her cheek, she knew it was lightbulb. Although at this point her ears were starting to ring, no one else says omga.
"Hm..." her whole body shook and her eyes were so heavy yet her mind was so active, filled with different thoughts all going haywire at this moment in time.
"Are you alright?" Fan asked, his tone still irritated but also concerned as well more than anything else.
"Yup" she mumbled, practically lying though her teeth. Paintbrush's bristles could be heard sizzling.
