They thought they were safe.
They thought they were being transported to somewhere they could stop worrying about monsters.
The remaining tenants sat in the back of what was now the second military truck transporting them throughout the deserted and destroyed world. Two soldiers sat in the front, one driving and the other seeming to be very angry at the driver.
Everyone was silent - aside from the truck's engine and Yeong-su's crying - and trying to take in what they'd just witnessed before them. The soldiers accidentally shooting survivors. A monster running throughout the tunnel where everyone was, causing panic.
Eun-yu was thinking about what was now the reason she had blood splattered across her face. One of the soldiers present had placed his gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. In her skirt's waistband, that same gun now sat, waiting to be used by the girl.
The truck eventually stopped underneath a bridge, where the tenants began to hear one of the soldiers curse. "Were you trying to get us fucking killed?"
The soldier who hadn't been driving them began to punch the driver in the face again and again, with all the tenants watching in silent horror.
"I thought the soldiers would be okay," Seung-wan voiced, his perspective of this whole thing now changed completely.
"Bom..." Hye-in realised her dog was missing. "Bom isn't here!"
"Who gives a fuck where your damn dog is?" Jae-hwan snapped. "We barely survived!"
"How dare you! You'd be dead right now if it wasn't for Bom," Hye-in pointed out. "I saw you back there! You ran away on your own, you selfish bastard."
"And what's wrong with that, huh?" Jae-hwan asked.
"Stop it, you guys," Seung-wan tried to stop the fight before it got any worse. "This isn't the time! What's going to happen to us now?"
Eun-yu, having grown tired of everything happening all at once, pulled out the gun from her skirt's waistband. Seung-wan saw it, making him splutter in surprise. "Hey, why do you..."
Eun-yu stood up, moved to the front of the truck and ripped off the plastic covering. She aimed her gun at the soldier who'd been punching the driver, who seemed surprised at first but began to chuckle. "You gotta be kidding me. Do you even know how to use--"
Eun-yu fired at the window next to the man, shattering the glass and scaring everyone, including the soldier.
"What do you want?" the soldier asked once he'd overcome his surprise.
"Two things," Eun-yu answered, never taking her eyes off the soldier she was aiming her gun at. "A place to be... and a person to see."
"What's their name?" the driver asked. "I can probably find out where they are and what safe zone they're in."
Eun-yu finally looked over at the driver. "Her name is Park Sung-hyo. She was shot and was bleeding out. She and her brother, Ji-ji were put in an ambulance while we were taken to that supposed safe zone we were just in."

"Get her to the room now!"
"She's lost a lot of blood."
"She's crashing!"
"We're losing her!"
"Starting compressions."
