Ah-yi eventually managed to walk past Hyun-su, who continued to follow the girl.
Only one question exited his lips. "Why did you do that?"
"I don't like her," Ah-yi answered.
"So why don't you like her?" Hyun-su continued. He couldn't have Sung-hyo knowing about this; she and Ah-yi had grown distant in the last month, ever since those men attacked Ah-yi.However, Ah-yi countered Hyun-su's interrogative questions. "She's the reason you and Big Sis hurt my friends and the reason you keep disappearing, isn't she?"
Hyun-su didn't say anything, knowing Ah-yi already knew the answer to her question.
"Protecting her, you... you broke your promise," Ah-yi continued. "I was curious about humans at first 'cause Mom is one. So is Big Sis and Bro. So I said hi... and they hurt me. They yelled and they pushed and they hurt me too. And they killed all my friends and monsters! Leaving only just me."
"They were just scared," Hyun-su tried to reason with the child. "Afraid of losing someone."
"Then I'll give them a reason," Ah-yi snapped. "Show them how scary it was. You should feel it too. I'm talking about my pain. You'll feel it too. I came to tell you that, that's all."
"Let's go home," Hyun-su suggested. "Please."
"I have no home. It's being burned down," Ah-yi revealed, making Hyun-su freeze in shock. "I no longer need you, or Mom anymore."
Hyun-su took off running toward the boat, leaving a teary Ah-yi behind. However, the girl wiped away her tears and walked the opposite way of Hyun-su, beginning her plan for the world.

Sung-hyo should've been using the night time to sleep. But she couldn't shake this feeling in her. That something bad was happening... or had happened.
And the lingering stench of smoke in the air didn't help this feeling at all.
Sung-hyo was standing on top of the hotel she and Ji-ji occupied, using her brother's binoculars to see if she could somehow spot the smoke or even the fire.
Then she found it. In the last place she'd wanted it to be.
Putting down the binoculars, Sung-hyo ran through the hallways and towards the closest exit, grabbing her machete along the way.

Sung-hyo made it to where the boat had once been, but half of it was now underwater, while the other half remained burning.
Sung-hyo felt her chest grow tight with worry; what happened? Were Yi-kyung and Ah-yi okay? Did the military find them? Another survivor?
"Sung-hyo!" a voice called out, snapping the girl from her sacred daze and turning to the voice.
Hyun-su stood nearby, looking exhausted and covered in soot. Sung-hyo approached her boyfriend, preparing for the worst and praying for the best.
"Hyun-su, what happened? Are..."
"Ah-yi set the boat on fire," Hyun-su revealed, turning Sung-hyo's fear to shock. "She said she wants everyone to understand her pain. And understand her anger for how humans treat her... she's losing everything she knew and loved recently, but I'm worried she will do something she'll later regret."
Sung-hyo then grew guilty. She'd been so busy with Eun-yu coming back and with food running out in the city, she'd been running out of chances and time to see Ah-yi. And that must be what was causing Ah-yi to act like this...
Yi-kyung, who'd been lying inside of a paddle wheeler the entire time, regained consciousness as Sung-hyo was going over everything. The soft, pained gasp Yi-kyung let out caught both Hyun-su and Sung-hyo's attention. Sung-hyo actually hadn't even realised the woman was there.
"Are you okay, Yi-kyung?" Hyun-su asked.
Tears began to fall down the woman's face as she slowly sat up, with Sung-hyo helping her, careful to void the woman's burns on her arms. "It's all my fault it's like this. I just wanted her to be safe like you were. All I wanted was for her to..."
Yi-kyung began to cry, everything crashing down on her. She felt like she'd failed her daughter; not done a good enough job that Ji-ji and Sung-hyo seemed to have done.
"It wasn't your fault," Sung-hyo spoke. "So much has happened these last few months. No one would be able to comprehend all of this, not even us."
"I should've killed her. I always had that thought in the back of my mind as I was raising her," Yi-kyung admitted. "I know... I know she must've felt it when I had those thoughts."
"You're wrong," Hyun-su shut down Yi-kyung's thoughts. "I know because I was there too. You said you were a bad mother, but you know that's just not true."
"You endured everything, Yi-kyung, even I saw that," Sung-hyo pointed out. "You've been enduring so much since this entire thing started. You're the strongest person I know who's still here, even Ji-ji has admitted that."
Yi-kyung, however, didn't believe any of the words that came from either of the teenagers' mouths. "The fault is all mine. I was the one who made her like this. I made this entire mess. This is for the better. Maybe it's better if I die here. That way, I don't have to kill her with my own hands."
Sung-hyo's bottom lip began to quiver, a clear sign Hyun-su had learned was when his girlfriend was trying to hold back her tears. "Were you really going to kill her?" Yi-kyung didn't answer, but Sung-hyo still got an answer. "Why? You're her mother. Why?!"
"I don't deserve to be a mother," Yi-kyung replied. Her breathing was visibly worse, as she was taking larger inhales than exhales and she sounded like she was struggling. "I had the same thought hundreds of times. Why is she cursed like this? Why?" Yi-kyung's tears began to return again. "It's all my fault. My awful thoughts and desires turned her into a monster."
"Yeah, so what?" Sung-hyo replied. "Does that mean all monsters are bad? People grow scared of them because they are unsure of them... or they fear becoming one. I think I'm one of the only people... if not the only one who wouldn't care if I suddenly became a monster."
That, right there, was one of the many reasons why Hyun-su loved Sung-hyo.
The sound of a tiny squirming noise caught everyone's attention. Sung-hyo recognised the monster as Hyun-su picked up a small (perhaps a baby) monster and held it near him. Sung-hyo could've sworn the monster mumbled "Mummy."
"This one protected you," Hyun-su revealed, remembering how the baby had been trying to pull Yi-kyung away from the fires on the boat. "Because it considered you family. Monsters feel and recognize people. They were human once too."
And that, right there, was one of the many reasons why Sung-hyo loved Hyun-su.
Mills says!

I can't wait to start writing that season... Sung-hyo is gonna go through a lot haha
Ji-ji will too (no, I'm not killing him off, I like him too much)
