Sung-hyo had days with Hyun-su, which was mainly them doing something together. Something the world would see as simple, but they didn't care. Simple was still a nice thing.
If it was raining when they woke up, they'd stay in their home, now an abandoned, tiny hotel just down the road from the river - Yi-kyung and Ah-yi were living in the boat together - and just wait to see if the weather improved.
If the weather turned while they were out, they'd find themselves sheltering from the rain together, sometimes in a building nearby or even using Hyun-su's wing, which they'd discovered would evaporate any rain that landed on it.
If it was a warm, sunny day, they'd lie on a roof in the sun or even go for a quick fly somewhere. If that wasn't enough for them, they'd jump into the river near their home and have a little swim.
Sung-hyo also had days with her brother, mainly on watch. Their bonds nowadays were through keeping watch of their home and talking about their recent encounters with monsters.
However, Sung-hyo didn't mind their limited moments. She cherished them as much as her moments with Hyun-su, as who knew when she'd have her last moment with either?
Sometimes, Sung-hyo would also join Ji-ji on his rounds to collect food from shops and restaurants in the city. Ji-ji had managed to figure out a portion of the stadium's schedule and declared that the stadium's military went out for their own rations about once or twice a month.
They'd just pick any day that the military didn't come into the city. If the military was heading over, they'd make themselves unknown. Ji-ji still didn't trust the military entirely, Sung-hyo thought. Perhaps he didn't want himself and Sung-hyo to become like the survivors in the stadium; they weren't even allowed beyond the perimeter made around the stadium.
Then Sung-hyo had days by herself.
These were about once a week, as she would sometimes crave to go outside or want to do something by herself. So Sung-hyo would occasionally walk somewhere by herself, rucksack on her back, her machete in its beltline holder and her pistol in another beltline holder on the other side of her waist. Around her wrist was a scrunchie, as her hair was momentarily down.
Today, she decided to walk where the city was starting to flood. A handful of the monsters (about 4 in every 5) didn't seem to like water, so if any attacked her without reason, she'd dive into the water.
However, she'd never expected to discover Eun-yu and a soldier inside a pit that was designed to trap and kill monsters. She knew who'd made this pit too... and it wasn't anyone in her little group.
"Fucking hell, Eun-yu, first you have two men chasing you with a shotgun, now this?" Sung-hyo tried to joke, but bit her cheek after noticing the looks the two below her were giving. "Who's the soldier?"
Eun-yu didn't answer, so Chan-yeong did. "Park Chan-yeong, from the stadium's platoon."
"Platoon, eh?" Sung-hyo smirked, looking back at Eun-yu. "You picked a good one."
Eun-yu grimaced, "We're not dating."
Sung-hyo hummed in disappointment, "Shame. You're kinda cute together."
"Who is that?" the soldier asked.
Sung-hyo leaned over ever so slightly so she could get a better look at the soldier beside her best friend. "Park Sung-hyo. A pleasure to meet you, soldier."
The soldier seemed to react to her name. He remembered when he'd been mentioned that name.
"What do you want?" the sergeant asked once he'd overcome his surprise.
