How did we end up here

Chapter 6

"I'm going to get a snack okay honey?" I nodded and mommy went back to the house and I stayed by the lake throwing in rocks. I have never been alone here and it felt exciting, nut I knew not to get close to the water because I couldn't swim jet. I heard mommy coming back and I turned around to see what kind of snacks she brought but suddenly she pushed me in to the lake. I was sinking and I couldn't come up for air, I just didn't understand why mommy  would push me. She loved me, why would she do this? 

 

Then I suddenly woke up drenched in sweat, it has been a week since I had this nightmare but I knew it would never go away so I was never surprised when it suddenly showed up again.  When I looked at my phone I saw I had a text from Zane, which was weird because he never texts me. I opened the text and read the following:

 

-Who was the guy you skated with?- I answered him but I didn't know why he was suddenly interested in Jake. -That was Jake. He's my new skating partner- I sent him the text and he replied really fast. -since when do you skate with a partner?-- since there's a competition where I have to skate with a partner--are you two together?- I was shocked by his boldness. Why was he asking all these questions. -no why would you think that?- now I really wanted to know.-because he was looking at you the whole time and he was touching you everywhere.- he answered me.-well were not together and I didn't like being touched by him everywhere- I don't know why I felt the need to tell him that but I did.-then why did you let him?- he asked me. -because I can't afford to lose him now because than I'll have to find another partner- I explained. -he sounds creepy- -usually he's really nice- after that we stopped texting.

 

I went to practice but I had a weird feeling in my stomach. What if Jake would still be touchy with me. I won't be able to do anything about it, cause I really couldn't afford to lose him now. At practice at first I didn't notice anything different in the way Jake acted but as soon as the hockey team showed up he stared to act different like I was his possession and it really bothered me. Every time he touched my in the wrong place I would purposely start to fall so he would finally realize that I know what he was doing and if he kept doing it our routine would suffer from it. I was very happy when practice was over and I wanted to leave quickly but Jake stopped me.

 

"I was thinking you and I should grab something to eat sometime.", he suggested but his voice sounded more like a command and I did not like that or him like this. "Oh well I'm sorry but I'm just really busy so I can't", I wanted to be polite because he was still my skate partner but he was not having it. "I'm sure you can make some time for me.", he said a bit too aggressive for my liking. "Jake I'm sorry but no.", now I was being more firm because I just wanted to leave. He suddenly put his hand on my lover back and looked into my eyes. "Let's try this again. You'll come with me to get drinks or food.", now I really started to get uncomfortable and I skated backwards out of the rink but he followed me. I was about to start running out of here but suddenly a big figure appeared in front of me.

 

"Didn't you hear? She said no. now get lost!", Zane was towering over Jake and he looked like he would rip Jake's head of. I could see the fear in Jakes eye. Suddenly a presence was beside me. "You all right?", Max was beside me with a worried look on his face. "Yeah I'm fine thanks.", I answered him still looking over to Zane and Jake. Jake scrammed out of the rink fast and Zane glared after him. "You know that guy already seemed weird when I first saw him.", Max said as Zane walked over to us. I felt weird being in-between these two because they both towered over me. Even if Max was only 6 feet and compared to Zane's 6'4 frame they still towered over my 5'5 frame. I always thought I was average height but these guys made me think otherwise.
