Niall's P.O.V
I lay awake in bed quivering at the storm outside. Thunder crashed and I whimpered crawling underneath the covers. Lighting flashed and I cried out wanting it all to end. Y/n was downstairs watching TV and I didn't wanna disturb her. She would call me a baby anyways. I poked my head out of the blankets and crept towards the closet. The Thunder crashed again and I screamed as the lights went out darkness filling the room. I curled up in a corner and cried into my knees. I heard footsteps coming upstairs and I panicked not wanting Y/n to see me cry. I hid under the bed curled up in a ball as the room door opened.
"Niall? Love are you here?" Y/n called. I stayed quiet. The door closed and footsteps sounded again before stopping. Thunder crashed and lighting flashed causing me to scream and burst into tears before flying into Y/n's arms. She looked startled.
"Baby shhh shhh. Calm down sweetie it's ok. I got you." She promised holding me tight. I cried into her neck while she kissed my ears and ran her fingers through my hair.
"P-p-please m-make it s-stop." I sobbed gripping onto her jumper.
"I can't baby I'm sorry but I've got a surprise downstairs." Y/n whispered rubbing her nose with mine. I nodded as she carried me downstairs. I laid my head against her chest listening to her heartbeat. I lifted my head up and saw a blanket fort with Christmas lights around it ones that ran on batteries. There was popcorn in it and cookies and chocolate along with milkshakes. I stared in awe feeling much better.
"You did this babe?!" I said attacking Y/n in loads of sloppy kisses. She laughed and nodded kissing me back on my lips.
"Lie down baby and we can watch something on my iPad. What do you wanna watch?"
I blushed a bit. "The little mermaid?" I whispered feeling like a baby for liking that film.
"Oh my god that's my favourite! We are so watching it!" Y/n exclaimed happily as we snuggled under the blankets. I breathed out slowly and rested my head on her chest as we watched munching on popcorn.
Your P.O.V
Niall felt so warm and soft. His blonde hair tickled my chin and I pulled at it gently fluffing it up. Niall hummed along to 'Under the Sea' his eyes shutting. Thunder boomed throughout the room and Niall jumped.
"Shhh I got you love." I cooed kissing his blonde head. Niall relaxed and sleepily nuzzled into my chest.
"Sleep baby." I cooed. Niall shook his head and yawned.
"M not sleepy." He mumbled before falling asleep his head on my stomach.
"Aww baby." I whispered stroking his hair. I gently laid his head on the pillow and covered him with a blanket. Placing a kiss to his forehead I shut off the iPad and laid down beside him.
"I love you sweetie and I'll always keep you safe." I whispered before sleep took over me.
