Henwy flicked his tail as he watched Biffle go.

Yeah, there was no way he believed Biffle. He believed that Biffle trusted that...monster, but there was no way the deal was true.

It was tempting, and he wanted to believe it, but Biffle had broken his trust and it wasn't something he could easily win back. Henwy flicked his tail and turned away, spreading his wings and taking to the air. He landed on the balcony and flicked his wings back. There was a flutter of wings behind him followed with the screech of metal. Black claws gripped the railing and Sigils grunted, flapping his wings again. His robotic wing creaked, staying half-folded in. Sigils snarled in frustration as Henwy helped him up. Sigils grasped the wing and forced it open, making the wing let out a loud crack.

"This stupid freaking wing," Sigils hissed, flinging out both wings, testing the mobility of the mechanical wing.

Henwy patted Sigils' shoulder and steered him away from the balcony, "So, do you believe Biffle's deal?"

"Not really," Sigils murmured, "But at this point dying is better."

"That's optimistic," Henwy whispered, turning to look out at the garden.

The two sat down and leaned against the wall, looking out at the scenery as the sun set. Henwy wrapped his hand around Sigils' and squeezed it, "This is probably our last bit of peace before everything goes to hell."

Sigils hummed his agreement and rested his head against Henwy's shoulder.

Biffle gasped for air as he hit the ground, the air being forced from his lungs. SSundee grabbed his collar and pulled him up, snarling.

"I know what you're doing," SSundee hissed, "But your little ally is under my control."

Biffle weakly tried to grab SSundee's arm, still fighting for air. SSundee threw him again, turning away. Biffle coughed and scrambled away from SSundee until he hit a wall. He leaned against it, trying to recover.

"I thought you understood what I was going through," SSundee hissed, his new armor gleaming in the light, "But I guess I was wrong. Maybe a friend is too much to ask for."

"Maybe- maybe y-you sh-should w-work on being a b-better f-friend," Biffle stammered, shaking while trying to stand.

An invisible force knocked him sideways. Biffle yelped as he collided yet again with the ground. SSundee slowly walked towards Biffle and crouched in front of him.

"Do you actually care about Henwy and Sigils? The ones who ruined your life?"

Biffle spat out blood, "They deserve a good life."

SSundee tilted his head and narrowed his eyes, "And you?"

"I deserve to fucking die."

SSundee stood and turned away, "I'm glad to disappoint you."

Sigils flicked his ear and opened his eyes, "Did you hear that?'

Henwy shifted and slowly blinked awake, "Hm?"

Sigils stood and slipped away from Henwy and padded over to the balcony. His eyes landed on SSundee's base, where the wall was shifting and receding. Sigils called Henwy over, who groggily stood and stumbled to the ledge.

The avian tilted his head, "What happened?"

Sigils pointed at the cave. "Oh," Henwy murmured, "That's certainly not good."
