You sighed as you were back in the tower. Is this all there is to life? Your adventure had come to a halt, at least for now. You looked to Eniam, "So what do I do as an assistant?"

"You can sort the potions and books in alphabetical order, take out the trash, get new firewood, etc." He looks back at his book.

"Business is slow eh?" You really shouldn't be doing this. A count's daughter deserves far much better.

"Where do you come from anyway?" Eniam's eyes seemingly pierce through your soul.

"Uh... over yonder, from a quaint little... town."

"A village bumpkin ay?" He smirks.

"What about you?" You look at him, eyes full of curiosity.

He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly and looks away. "Why are you looking at me like that? Anyways, I grew up in this area and just read books all day. My father didn't really show me much affection, and my mother... well, I don't really know who she is... Eventually he taught me about magic, as a powerful wizard. I learned from his craft, and well now I'm one of the best of the best! I came across this tower in my ventures, met with Germaine, and earned a job here. That's where we are now."

"Best of the best, huh? ...But, your potions don't even work..." You mumble.

"What was that?" He looked up, looking annoyed. "I know you aren't insulting me, your employer, missy..."

You jump a bit, "Sorry! Sorry!" Giggling you go over to the books and begin sorting them. After some time you go over and start sorting the potions too. Ugh, do you really have to take out the trash? Or even gather firewood? You thought you would be doing more fun things as a wizard's assistant. You quickly dispose of the trash, clean yourself up, and go to look for kindling and firewood. You forgot you needed an axe.

"Hey Eniam, where can I get an axe? Don't you think cutting firewood is a bit taxing for a girl like me?"

"Oh, right. The axe is over here, and I still expect you to get the firewood, it's apart of your pay." You look at him pleadingly and he sighs, giving in. "Okay, okay, I'll substitute that job for something else. Hmmm... how about you go and clean the floors with the mop in the closet over there." He points.

You went over to the cupboard, greatful for this job change. You grabbed the cleaning supplies and began your sweep around the room. As you swept, you thought about your wanted posters. What were you going to do about that? Truthfully, you were aching to return to your previously comfortable and not to mention lavish lifestyle. After you finished cleaning up, you cleaned up the final time, and went over to Eniam.

"I'm done, and also can I use the bathroom?"

"Woman! It's always something new with you! What is this, school? You don't need to ask! Just go!" He exclaims, looking disturbed yet a tinge amused.

You quickly used the bathroom and came out, and decided it was time to hit the hay as you looked outside the window and saw the sun setting. It was breathtaking.

"Eniam, look." He looks over to what you are pointing at and deadpans.

"Never seen a sunset before? Country bumpkin." He shakes his head.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about! What happened to appreciating the fine things in life?! Also where do I sleep?" You snuck the last question in.

"You're right, it is rather eye catching isn't it?" He has a glint in his eye as he looks at you. Anyways you will be sleeping in a room upstairs. I hope it is up to your..." He looks you up and down. "...standards. You are dressed rather fine for a country bumpkin. What's up with that? Anyways, follow me." He started walking up the stairs, and they creaked a bit.

"I suppose we should get a set of new stairs too, huh? Would you mind working on that?" He chuckles.

"That's too much. Also, I just have a good taste in clothing...and extra allowance, haha." You declined, as you followed him up. He leads you to a bedroom and you peek inside the doorframe. It's a beautiful and cozy room. It big double bed, and the moonlight comes in through the windows. It's the perfect view to watch the stars or even use a telescope.

"This is great. But why couldn't you have carried me here the other day." You look at him to see his reaction.

"Is that so? Now, why would I carry you to your bedroom? Hah, me?" He smirks and looms over you, hands on his waist.

"Well it would've been nice for my posture, like you said before, you know?" You cheekily retorted. You suppose it was better he didn't though, and you could feel your cheeks warm up at the thought of Eniam carrying you. Too embarrassing!

"Well, well, why are we blushing? I don't understand." Still smirking, he shakes his head. "Anyways, I'll be off, have a nice night." He waves his hand and you wave back. He turns off the lights and closes the door as you practically jump onto the bed. You sink into the mattress and it is very comfy. You feel like you are about to sleep again but feel vigilant as you realize this is your chance. You don't want to imagine the trouble you are already in at your estate. It's better to return as soon as possible. You guess you just wouldn't tell Eniam though, but you felt kind of bad just leaving for no reason. It's not like he felt bad for leaving you earlier to deal with the mother. There is no point in staying here though, and you wanted to bathe. You felt that it wasn't going to be too long until you started stinking up the whole room. Before you could decide the next course of action, however, there is a knock at the door.

"I'm coming in." Eniam opens the door and heads towards you. He looks at you sheepishly. "Uh... sorry, I forgot to give you the day's pay." He hastily gives you a bag full of coins and for a second, his hand brushes against yours. He quickly retracts it and you notice there is a faint blush on his cheeks. "Sorry for the disruption." He leaves as abruptly and quickly as he came, closing the door. There is a click.

You sunk into the pillow and groaned. Did you really have to make the journey back to the estate now? Yes, it made the most sense. If you snuck back in now, it's likely you wouldn't really be noticed, and it's dark out. First you would have to wait a bit for Eniam to fall asleep. You didn't want to deal with his drama. So you waited a bit for time to pass, until you didn't hear any noises or sounds of moving anywhere. Then you slowly crept out of the room and closed the door, trying to make your way downstairs.

Oh snap! The floorboards on the stairs creaked a bit as you went on them! Please don't wake up! Please don't wake up! You chanted as you tried to make your journey down the stairs brief. Then you quickly skittered over to the front door and left through it, with a blanket of course. You would return it later! Anyways, thus started your nighttime journey, back to your estate.

You were so tired as you walked the distance to your house again. It would all be worth it though, when you could sink into that warm, luxurious bed, and sleep safely. Not to mention the baths! Yes, a warm bath would be nice. With scented soaks and bubbles. You couldn't wait.

Soon, you arrived at the beautiful estate. It was more beautiful than you remembered. Perhaps because you hadn't seen it in a while, or maybe because you didn't really take care to observe it before.

Now the trouble was, how to get in?
