Mingi woke up with his eyes wide open, only after hearing the first sentence Hongjoong spoke on the phone.

"Yunho has been proven to be the culprit. San has found enough evidence to even convince the police."

Evidence? San? How— "But—is that true?" Mingi tried to hide his doubts. After all, it was a case, and if Hongjoong said Yunho was the culprit, then it was true. What Mingi questioned was how San could find the evidence, while Mingi, who had been very close to Yunho in the past few days, had found nothing.

It all felt odd. There was something fishy here.

"Do you still want an extension?" Hongjoong didn’t sound demanding or dismissive of Mingi's wishes. He simply asked, without any tone that made Mingi feel cornered.

"I trust San's evidence," Mingi was uncertain. "Just looking for additional evidence. Maybe with that, everything will be clearer."

Fortunately, Hongjoong didn’t press further and ended the call immediately after granting Mingi's request.

So, Mingi would return to Yunho’s house.
