Rose walked quickly towards the infirmary, very angry and making a lot of noise. The expression on her face made the other students move out of her way. When she arrived at the infirmary Madam Pomfrey was not there, and she approached Lily's bed, which was surrounded by screens.
As soon as she removed them, a vase flew past her head and crashed against the wall. Rose looked surprised at Lily, who was standing with a huge alarm clock in her hand, ready to throw it. Lily lowered her arm, embarrassed at the sight of Rose.
"What have I done to you?" Rose repaired the vase with a spell and left it on the table.
"Rose! Forgive me, please, I thought you were that damn Potter again," Lily apologized, sitting up in her bed.
"Potter?" Rose closed the screens and sat in a chair, looking at Lily with a half-smile on her mouth.
"Yes, Potter! He's already come five times so far this afternoon to apologize to me, and he won't understand that I don't want to see him," Lily explained. "And I throw something at him every time he shows up here!"
"And has your deterrent technique worked so far?
"No, he always manages to catch what I throw at him," Lily answered with a hint of anger and frustration.
"He has a lot of merit," Rose commented, with a smile, and Lily glared at her. "By the way, how's your face?"
"See it yourself," Lily pointed to her face, which was completely bandaged except for the eyes, mouth, and nostrils. "Madam Pomfrey had to pop all those disgusting green pimples on me, the pus smelled so bad! And the worst of all is that I think it will leave a mark on me. I'm sure I'm going to get a stupid nickname from now on, like 'the pimples' or something like that."
"Well, wait until they find out what happened to me with the potions classes."
"You are right! How did it go with Slughorn?"
"It was a disaster, he refused to teach me," Rose said with an angry face. "The very narcissist, idiot, conceited—"
"Did he refuse to teach you? But he's a teacher!" Lily was scandalized. Rose shrugged as if to say 'I know'. " "And what are you going to do? I could help you with the theory, but not with the practice, Madam Pomfrey would kill me if I brought a cauldron here."
"He gave me a substitute teacher," Rose explained reluctantly, "Severus Snape."
"Snape?" Lily asked incredulously. "I can't believe it, why him?"
"Slughorn says it's a punishment for fighting with James in the corridors," Rose refrained from telling her friend that Slughorn had called Severus 'the best potion master of seventh grade' She didn't want to hurt Lily's spirit any further.
"Well, if it's just a punishment, I don't think you have to be with him more than two weeks," Lily tried to comfort her.
"Two weeks? I wish. He will have to teach me until I get an E in potions." Lily opened her mouth to say something, and then she made a face, as if she were going to laugh, but Rose cut her off. "Don't even think about it, Lily Evans! If you laugh at me, or... tell someone... your parents will have to find pieces of your body in the stomach of the giant squid."
"Okay, okay, but don't tell me it's not funny that a Slytherin has to teach a Griffindor how to make potions," Lily tried to contain her laughter without success.
"Yes, it's the funniest thing in the world, look how I'm laughing," however, Rose smiled when she saw how excited Lily was. Then, there was a commotion at the infirmary door that wiped the smiles off their faces, at least on Lily's.
