It was hard to believe that the day had already come, but it was bound to happen eventually. It almost didn't seem real but, Izuku should've seen it coming from a mile away.
Himiko and Ochaco had been dating for years, it was only a matter of time before they'd finally make it official with a pair of rings.
Izuku wanted to be happy for them. He was happy for them, but as he was getting dressed up for the wedding, the thoughts in the back of his mind lingered, and they weren't happy ones you should have when going to a wedding.
Every time a couple gets married, two single people die.
He remembered hearing that from somewhere long ago, and the feeling made his heartache, but why? His friends were getting married and he was going to be surrounded by his friends and family. He should be excited and happy.
But, he wasn't.
Nevertheless, he wasn't going to let whatever virus was plaguing his mind and stomach eat away at him and ruin his friends' perfect day. He'd just have to bite his tongue and fake his smile.
It wouldn't be the first time he's had to do it.

Izuku had just arrived before the ceremony had started, meaning the caterers were doing the finishing touches inside the beach house Ochaco had rented out for the reception.
The ceremony itself was taking place outside, with a white canopy covered in pink flowers, a white carpet, and chairs already set on both sides.
The stage for the Dynamights was being prepped but it appeared that the band hadn't shown up just yet, and perhaps they wouldn't be there until the reception since they weren't needed for the ceremony.
Which meant Izuku would be alone.
Well, not entirely. His mother and stepfather were at the wedding so he could spend time with them. Ochaco saw Izuku's parents as her second mom and dad since they were practically siblings growing up, so of course she had to invite them to her special day.
Still, everyone else was there with their significant others, it made him feel pathetic to be clinging to his mother in his mid-20s. But, perhaps it was better than being completely alone.
But, the moment everyone was called to head outside and start seating themselves as the ceremony was about to start, the entrance doors slammed open as a blonde-haired man barged through them, alarming everyone in the building.
He tried catching his breath as he scanned the area for a familiar face and ran straight toward the greenette.
"Izuku! I'm sorry I almost didn't make it! Those losers wanted to sleep in and wait for the reception but I told em' I needed to get here early so I could be with you! It took a bit to drag their asses in the tour bus but we made it! Right? I didn't miss it, right?" Katsuki grabbed Izuku's hands into his own, making Izuku blush from the sudden gesture.
"N-Nope! Y-You made it just in time! It's just about to start!"
"Perfect! Let's hurry and grab the best seats!" Katsuki kept his hold on Izuku's hand as he led him outside where the ceremony set up was.
"W-Wait, Kacchan, we can't just sit anywhere! The family goes in the front and friends behind!" Izuku urged.
Once everyone made their way and found their seat, it only took a few moments for the music to start and for the ceremony to officially begin.
