~Chavi stood five feet away from Darsh on a blacony of the palace.
"Six months in this palace, and I have to say...the only thing I don't mind here is the view." Chavi sarcastically added. Darsh snorted.
"I think so too. The palace does have a good view..." He said looking at Chavi. Chavi rolled her eyes at his shameless flirting.
"You can try to be a little discreet, you know?"
"I don't want to. I'm not against people knowing that I like you."
"Just like?"
"I don't wanna scare you off using big words like 'love' so I'll keep it to myself for now." Darsh stepped closer to her. Chavi turned to him.
"You really think we can be a thing? The Yuvraj of Ashokdhar, The Rajkumari of Ashokdhar and both of whom call the same woman 'mother'?"
"This might be rude...but you're adopted."
Chavi laughed, "It's good that I wasn't kept in dark of the fact. Else I'd have broken your nose."
"I wouldn't have minded it."
Chavi turned to leave but stopped short at the exit of the balcony, "I guess the palace has something else I don't mind either."
Darsh understood her words very clearly almost weirdly clearly and smirked, "Don't say things like that, love. I can't be held accountable for things I might do."~~
He really couldn't be held accountable for what he was doing.
Darsh and Chavi stood before each other as cold wind brushed their faces. Darsh was determined. He reached to hold her hand and Chavi didn't protest. She was still unable to comprehend what was happening.
All that stood witness to what was happening was the interior of the Vishnu temple, deep in the woods. The only audience to their ceremony was the smiling idol of Krishna.
"Chavi. I have come to love you more than I thought. The thought of losing you feels haunting." Darsh tightened his grip on her hand as if he'd lose her.
"I, the son of Maharaj Vihaan and Maharani Sadhana, Darsh, promise here today, to you, Chavi, to nourish us and our bond. To grow together in strength." Darsh spoke with a calm, composed and almost sure voice. Chavi who just repeated his words in her mind, was making the promises as well.
"I vow to share with you all my joys and sorrows, and promise to be a part of yours as well. I promise to provide for our family." Darsh took a step closer holding her gaze.
"I promise to stay with you and offer true companionship till the day my last breath betrays me. I ask you now, Chavi, will you be my wife?"
Darsh looked expectantly at Chavi from whose eye a lone tear slipped. She took a step closer as well, closing the gap between their bodies, wrapping him in an embrace.
"Yes."
