The locust (apart of the separatists sub species. Yay I found a name for them!) are basically the foot soldier of the singularity army. Although weak, they are tactical about their moves in the battlefield. You know like every soldier would know what to do when killing things. Some hold the assault rife that is the second picture or some hold the more damaging shot gun assault rifle. They also carry out grenades for any... well what you'd use for a grenade.
Also, the locust foot soldiers were advanced in their construction enough to take on a D.D. With their impressive mobility and agility, at least 5 could kill 1 D.D. Being higher up then the canon fodder wendigos (literally the first monster you see) these soldiers are a force to be reckoned with in combat, and are highly feared.
The singularity sun species, the separatists, are like I said in one of these entries are soldier like monsters. These were made to combat any remaining human colonies' military on other planets. Basically Cyn saw what the human military was like in 30...idk 60?...wherever ep 5's year was...probably in 3070 or something anyway she saw that and was like...
