"O-oneesan?" Ryu took some steps back after opening the front door. He swore he heard his sister's voice but was it really her?

"Oneesan, what happened to you?" he asked as he tried to hold his tears back. He was very scared because he was alone for some days and now that his sister finally came back, she looked different which scared him more.

"Ryu?" the winged demon tilted her head, the boy in front of her seemed familiar, yet she couldn't remember clearly. All she know was the way towards this hut and the name of this boy.

"I don't know Ryu, but you don't need to be scared now." she said, "you must be hungry now, I'll go cook for you."

"Oneesan, aren't you eating?" Ryu asked whole picking up his chopsticks.

She shook her head, "My taste has changed now Ryu, I can't eat it."

"Oh." he didn't question further and started to eat his food but he grimaced, "Ew! It's too salty!"

"It is?" she tasted it, "to me, it's just right."

"No it's not!" he gulped all his water down and placed the cup back.

"Come, I'll prepare you another plate," the demon stood up, "come to the kitchen and taste the food so next time, I can put the right amount of salt inside."

After Ryu finished eating and y/n washing the dishes, she sat outside on the stairs at her front door.

"Oneesan?" the boy called out.

"What is it Ryu?" she turned around.

The boy asked, "Why does oneesan have wings and horns?"

"Oneesan... Is a demon now." she replied calmly.

"Oh," the boy added, "What does a demon do?"

"They are known to be man-eating monsters. They roam around at night and they are very brutal and violent." she explained.

"But neesan isn't such demon right?" Ryu asked curiously, "Oneesan didn't eat me, nor is neesan brutal and violent."

She chuckled, "Maybe, but aren't you scared of me?"

"Not anymore," he admitted, "Oneesan is oneesan and not a demon. Oneesan is gentle and kind."

"Is that so?" she gestured him to sit on her lap, "Ryu, do you know my name?"

"It's y/n, why?"

"Just asking."

"Oneesan, why are you hiding in the closet?" Ryu asked.

"Because the sun hurts me, Ryu. I can only go out at night." she explained, "Are you fine at your own?"

"I'll be fine, I'll go play with my friends at the village okay?" Ryu informed.

The village wasn't very far, but it will take some time to arrive there.

"Make sure to get home before evening, okay? Or neesan will get very worried." she added, "Also make sure to tell nobody about me being a demon."

"Why? Oneesan isn't bad." Ryu asked.

"Everyone sees things differently, there will be trouble if they know, alright?"

"Okay, I'll make sure not to tell anyone and come back before evening!" Ryu declared.

"Good kid, okay you can go play now. Be careful."
