Spy School: Error 404

Chapter 1: Arrivals

(BTW this whole book is in Ben's POV)

As I finally made it back to my dorm, I plopped myself on my bed and sighed. "Who thought that I'd get so tired today?" Suddenly, Mike ran into my room, Zoe, Chip, and Jawa not far behind. "Ben!" Mike shouted. "What happened this time?" I asked, still as tired as ever. "The president wants to see you!" Zoe shouted from behind Mike.

I froze. "Why is he here?" "They didn't say," Mike said. I ran through the door to the principal's office, which didn't take that long since I was so worried. The guards didn't even pat me down!

Erica and some random kid were sitting in chairs in front of the desk. "Ben! A pleasure to see you!" said President David Stern. "You too," I said, smiling. I sat down right in front of the principal and looked over to Erica.

For once, she actually looked worried.

"Well, Ben. I wanted to ask you a favor," said President Stern. "I need you to show around our newest recruit." I looked over to the new kid. He looked anxious and shy.

"Meet Lohan Brights! He's had a bit of a colorful past, but I want him to feel very welcome here!" President Stern ordered. The kid, whose name was Lohan, turned to me and smiled. I smiled back. Erica reverted to her cold self. "Well, now that we've had our introductions, I need to have a little chat with Agents Ripley and Hale."

President Stern led me and Erica to the corner of the room. "I need to tell you two something about Lohan..." Erica palmed her fist into her hand. "That he's a dirty, no good mole?" "Not exactly..." President Stern trailed off. "Here's the thing. Lohan used to work for a secret organization by the name of ERROR. When he learned what happened with SPYDER, he decided to go into hiding. He's been on the run for a few months now. He finally got here and was trying to convince the CIA to let him in. They're trusting him on a test run." I was surprised. Not because of the test run, but because of Lohan. He went through all that and he still looked decent? Usually, when I'm in hiding, I'm a mess!

"I guess I could help him..." I said. "Great! And how about you, Agent Hale?" Erica was still looking back at Lohan, who was just looking around the room aimlessly. "I still don't trust him..." "Please?" President Stern begged. Erica sighed. "Fine." "Thank you!" President Stern squealed. He turned to Lohan and smiled. "Lohan? You'll be going on a tour with Erica and Ben." Lohan smiled.

"Okay. I'm not as bad as you might think," Lohan said, trying to be polite. Erica muttered something under her breath and I smiled back. "Come on!" I said, "You should meet my friends."
