Ms. Landing looks around the classroom to see where they can sit. Crap.
Every other seat is full, except for the ones surrounding me. I am on my own little island.
Ms. Landing taps her chin, and says, "Boys, you may sit behind Aaron. The girl right there. Aaron, will you be in a three-way group with these kind, young gentlemen for tomorrow?" I nod slowly, and glance at Parker and Luke.
Parker has dark brown hair that is cut in jagged way over his forehead. His eyes are brown. He is probably about 5 foot 10. He has a rounded nose and medium-sized lips. His jawline is like the ones of actors on movies, perfect, and sharp-looking.
Luke is probably 5 foot 11. He has sandy blonde hair that is in the same hair style of Parker's. His eyes are a piercing shade of blue. Scary. His nose is pointed, and peppered with freckles. His lips are thin, and smiling, at the moment. At me.
When Parker sees me, he stops short, and the playful smirk he was wearing, disappeared. His mouth is hanging open. Luke closes it for him.
"Mouth closed. You'll swallow a fly," he teases. Parker punches him in the arm, but softly, not hard. They've got to be best friends.
They both make they're way over to me, Parker's eyes still on me. They butt the chairs behind me, Parker directly behind me, and Luke behind me, and one seat to the right.
I smirk; Parker is acting like complete doofus, and Luke is making me blush. He knows, and I know also that Parker is attracted to me. I don't know why. I'm not pretty. Luke teasing Parker about it, so I can hear is making my cheeks red.
Stupid Luke.
] Parker's POV [
Ms. Landing tells me and Luke where to sit. She mentions Aaron, and I look over to see her. Wow. She is beautiful.
Luke closes my mouth that I didn't know was hanging open, and says, " Mouth closed. You'll swallow a fly." I swallow hard, and force myself over to my seat. Directly behind her.
My mind screams at me to stop blushing, but I can't. Curious, I look at Aaron. She has medium-length, brown hair, and brown eyes too. Her nose is rounded, and her lips are full. A smirk is playing at her lips. She's mine.
Woah whoa, buddy. Slow down there. She's pretty, but you need to know her personality first. She might be a murderer for all I know.
I listen to Ms. Landing while she is talking about numbers. I understand most of it. Good, keep good grades, dude. Before you go start with the girls.
At my old school, girls were constantly flirting with me and Luke, and it was super annoying. I have only had one girlfriend in my life. I was stupid to like her. She was just a disgusting piece of crap.
I look around at the other girls, and sure enough, they're all staring back at me and Luke, twirling their hair, and batting their eyelashes so fast, I think they might fall off. Before I know it, class is over, and I pick up my backpack to go.
Aaron leaves at the same time Luke and I do. She seems quite lonely. Hm, no one is talking to her. Doesn't she have any friends?
"Go talk to her," Luke whispers in my ear.
"No," I whine. He raises an eyebrow, and smirks at me.
"Luke, please don't-" I protest, but I am too late.
"Hey, Aaron," Luke smiles at me. I hit him in the abdomen. I feel his abs. We both have them. We're pretty muscular, and strong. Nice for the ladies.Aaron, turns around, her backpack looks big, and heavy. Yes, that's what I'll do.
" Um, I-" I clear my throat. "It's just, your backpack looks kinda heavy, and if you want, I could carry it for you," I manage. She sighs, and says, "It's Parker, right?"
I nod. She remembers my name. She continues, "I don't need your help carrying my backpack, it's fine, not heavy at all." Wow, she looks kind of nervous. I don't think this has ever happened to her before. Has no guy ever flirted with her before, or anything?
"I take it you don't know how that was supposed to go," I say. I'm getting a little bold here. "You're supposed to let me carry you're backpack for you on the way to you're bus." She sighs, and says, "My bus is 18." Yes! I did it! I beam at Luke. He smirks at my childish reaction.
I realize that that is my bus. We live close to each other. Wow, I'm liking my luck today.
"Hey, that's mine and Luke's bus too," I say casually, but inside I'm all jittery, and I've never felt this way, but, my heart is hammering in my chest. She hands her backpack to me, and my arm extends under the weight. Wow, heavier than I thought.
"Hey, this is kinda heavy," I look down at Aaron. She's so small. She seems feisty though. She shrugs, and leads the way to our bus. She clubs the steps easily, finds an empty seat, and sits. I give her her backpack, and awkwardly sit next to her.
Luke sits on the outside. We're lucky Aaron is so small. Otherwise, we wouldn't fit. "Am I squishing you?" I ask loudly, making sure she can hear my voice over the yelling of the other kids. She shakes her head, but I scoot over towards Luke anyway.
Luke and I both check our bus tags, and figure out that we are at the same bus stop as Aaron. When Luke shares this news with Aaron, she replies, "Cool."
Soon, our bus stop comes, and the three of us make our way out of the bus. When we are all off of the bus, the yellow vehicle drives away, and we all watch until it is out of sight.
I scratch the back of my neck, and say, "See you tomorrow." Then I walk with Luke to his house, and then go home to my own.
I walk inside, smiling at the thought of Aaron.
My mom turns to me, her brown hair messed up, and sticking out at weird angles. "How was your first day?" I see Ally, my older sister watching me carefully. Stalker.
"Good," I reply, still smiling like an idiot. Mom nods, ending the discussion. Phew. I hate those conversations.
Ally grabs my wrist, and pulls me into her room, her blonde hair flying behind her, whipping me in the face. She closes the door behind us, and beams at me, excitedly. "There's a girl," she smirks at me, bouncing on her bed. I sit on the edge and exhale shakily.
"What? No there's not," I lie.
"You're a terrible liar. Now spill," she demands. I tell her Aaron's name, how pretty she is, and how she lives super close to me. By the end, I am smiling stupidly again.Ally lets me leave her room. I spend the rest of the day thinking about Aaron. During dinner, during my shower.... I even fall asleep thinking about her. Wow.
