With Ronan's arrival in Henituse County, not only did the kings of other kingdoms or races try to contact him, but so did the King of Rowoon himself.
It was a beautiful sight at the Annex building of the Henituse Castle; a merman casually dipped in the fountain. He had beautiful, long raven hair and his fins were almost translucent, looking like obsidian fabric threading through the water of the fountain.
Of course, Cale Henituse, Henituse County's firstborn, was always seen around the merman. He sat on the ledge with his feet in the water. He was seen combing the being's hair, playing with it, or simply adorning it with beautiful jewels and ornaments he could find.
The great being, on the other hand, always had his head on the child's lap, sleeping like a log while having a good time with the child.
"You have truly become a senile old man; do not become a criminal," Eruhaben advised. He was sitting on a bench near the fountain, surrounded by tea and snacks.
"Why would I do that?" Ranon responds. "And look at yourself. You are a senile old man yourself."
"I am still in my 900s."
"Well, I am still young," Ronan said as he slumped on Cale's lap, hugging the child's waist.
Cale laughed and hugged Ronan tightly.
The whales were also playing around the fountain. The fountain was large enough for three fish but not for the whale's animal form. Also, Ronan befriended the fish in the fountain and discovered a golden turtle in it.
Birds and animals of all kinds congregate around him as well. Ronan enjoyed petting them.
"Hm?" Ronan said as he transformed into a human. He could hear a very annoying cry coming from somewhere, but he could not place it.
The fountain he's currently in is not that manmade fountain, it has a fresh spring with strong mana in it. Surprisingly, such a dry and rock-filled region contained something extremely useful. Ronan was able to replenish half of his mana. He could tell that the half-powered him was already at Eruhaben's level.
He was strong. But he didn't know he was this strong.
He emerged from the fountain, Cale close behind.
When blondes appeared out of nowhere, he was about to sit in front of Eruhaben.
Deruth Henituse was also present.
"I thought I told you not to bother us," Ronan stated.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty, but... The king of Rowoon wishes to meet you." Ronan had been tormenting Deruth for quite some time.
He could tell that the man was already on edge, confused about who to serve. Of course, Ronan didn't mind who this man served but to disturb his moment with his people? He sat down, disrespectful to the King of Rowoon. If he remembered correctly, his name was Zed Crossman. The womanizing scumbag who had a lot of children and women.
Deruth was about to touch Cale but Ronan flicked Deruth's hand off the chick.
"Chick." he called. Cale obediently approached him and sat beside him.
"Speak."
Zed Crossman didn't dare sat before him.
The consorts who came with the King of Rowoon began to murmur how disrespectful he was.
He ignored the insults and stared at Zed Crossman.
"It is my family's pride to be graced with your presence. I am Zed Crossman, the current head of the Crossman Household."
"Hah. That snotty tyrant's descendants?" He mocks. Zed Crossman flinches but doesn't refute that fact. The Crossman Household tried to suppress those records.
However, his palace from the deep sea had all the records of the world. When he went back there before coming to the surface, Ronan made sure he recorded everything he needed to know.
He slouches back.
"So? Why did you come here?"
"I am just here to remind you that matters of the land—" Zed Crossman sighed.
"Of course, I know that; did you think I came here without knowing that?" he snarks. The blonde became paler.
"I have no intention of meddling in current world affairs; the reason I came was quite personal," he explained.
Zed Crossman locked his gaze on him. Ronan despised the thirst and greed in that man's eyes.
"The Criminal's descendant, lower that head," Ronan said sternly. Everyone in the Crossman household bowed their heads. "Good, I was thinking you were stupid to remind me of what I should do."
"Your Majesty, please accept my deepest apologies, but please be careful with your words; the current Household has nothing to do with the person you are referring to," Zed Crossman comforted.
"Why are you afraid of the truth?" Ronan asked as he looked at the boy standing behind Rowoon's king. He can tell at a glance that the boy was not an ordinary member of the royal family.
"Ho?" he laughed, "That boy."
The child with the brightest hair looked at him.
"What's your name boy?"
The boy replied, "It is... Alver, Your Majesty."
Ronan remembered that one prince with a very peculiar background from the novel he read back when he was still Kim Roksu. Cale gazed at him but remained silent. He just squeezed Ronan's hand, as if telling him not to look at the boy.
Ronan found Cale's expression adorable.
Such a jealous little chick.
He calmly took a sip and said, "Now then, you can leave. Rest assured that I will not interfere in anything. Just think another senile old man is enjoying his vacation during his retirement."
He dismissed them but he forgot one thing.
"And also, blondie, tell your wives to keep their mouths shut." He stood up and glanced at the consort who came with such gaudy clothes and things.
"I am still the oldest king in the world." He didn't want to use this fish's background but anyway, "Respect is given to the respectable. I have earned that right for a lifetime, so don't appear in front of me anymore."
Zed sent his wives away immediately.
Deruth calmly breathed and looked at him.
"Now I'm satisfied." Ronan sat down once more and looked at Deruth and Zed Crossman.
None of them spoke, so Eruhaben spoke inside his head.
—The eldest son is an elf.
—He's a dark elf, goldie boy.
Eruhaben frowned and stood up.
—take a look at that child.
— I know... so don't cause me any trouble.
Ronan smiled and just let the King and the Count serve him with the utmost hospitality.
It's not that bad. He likes it!
