Ocean Eyes
KakaHina
This was another one of those nights, the ones where he just sat in the bar to hide from the world. His gaze lingered on his glass for a moment before it drifted across the room. There she was again, crying in the corner. Hoping no one saw her as she cried. She didn't drink, she never did. She just came here to hide, just like he did. He felt for her, you know, always crying in the back of a bar couldn't be good for her self-esteem. Couldn't be good for any positive feelings honestly.
He hated seeing her cry, he had seen her cry way too many times to count now and it was all because of his blonde knucklehead of a student. He released a sigh and pulled his mask down to sip his drink once more. Just as swiftly as it had come down, it was back up. He stood and made his way over to her; he couldn't let her continue to cry in the back of the bar. He slipped into the seat next to her and she snapped her head up to look at him. "H-hokage-sama..." she was startled by him, hell anyone would be if he just randomly showed up.
"Just call me Kakashi." he said softly, which made her blush and look away. Her gentle hands reached up and began wiping the tears away. She was seemingly embarrassed at having been caught crying once more. "Sorry, Sensei." she whispered, and he sighed heavily. He wasn't going to win with the overly polite girl... woman... she was a grown woman now. He had to get that ingrained in his mind that she wasn't the little girl he had known all those years ago.
"Hinata, please... You're grown, call me by my name." he chuckled, and she looked softly down to her fingertips that were pressing against each other. "K-Kakashi... of what do I owe the pleasure?" she asked, and he smiled beneath his mask. "I was just coming to check on you. I just wanted to see if you were ok or if I need to have a talk with that blonde fool again." he mused, and she shook her head. "N-no... you don't need to do that... We... broke up..." she whispered, and he could see the tears well up in her eyes like an ocean about to spill over.
His heart ached at the sight of her tears once more. Over the years he had grown to care for the young woman. She was nothing but polite and kind and didn't deserve any of the pain she was being dealt. "Forgive me. I didn't mean to upset you yet again." he sighed, which made her shake her head. "No... you're ok... it just wasn't going to work out I suppose." she whispered, making him frown. "Do you mind if I ask what happened?" he asked softly, offering her the drink in his hand.
"I'm not sure... he didn't say why, and I think that's what hurt the most..." she replied softly, her fingers wrapping around the glass and pulling it to her lips. She sniffed it lightly before she downed the drink slowly. Her nose scrunched up cutely, but she didn't give the drink back to him. He stood and she looked up at him and blushed as she offered the drink back. "Don't stress over it, I'll get us some more." He chuckled and she nodded. He wasn't going to get her drunk, but he was going to ensure she felt better than she did right now.
The plan was tipsy.
Tipsy was not what had happened though.
He looked over at the giggling woman and a sigh escaped him. She couldn't contain her giggles, nor the fact she kept trying to hold his hand secretly. He had noticed this the moment she had bumped her fingertips against his on the booth seat. He allowed her to entwine their fingers as a sigh escaped his lips. She was subtle with her flirting, but he knew that's exactly what it was. She was flirting with him, and he knew it.
He also knew this wasn't going to go anywhere. She giggled once more behind her free hand and leaned over to him and whispered something in his ear. His eyes slipped shut and he listened to what she had to say. It wasn't anything lewd, it was more so a girl admitting a secret. Her secret was that she had a crush on someone, but she couldn't tell him who. He raised a brow and continued to sip his drink slowly. She leaned away from him and leaned back against the back of the booth once more.
