I do not own Naruto.

This was how it always was even from the time they were children. What he didn't understand was why. They had all survived the encounter with Kaguya and now here they were, Hinata standing before Obito defending him with her life. She was always this way. Thoughts drifted into his mind of her taking blow after blow for him. He was sick of this self destructive nature she held when it came to Obito. "I will personally watch after him to ensure he doesn't do anything rash." She said, her tone stern, but also challenging.

She was ready to throw it all away for him yet again and he couldn't stand it. Sure, he had forgiven Obito as well, but he wasn't practically standing in front of a blade for him. He wanted Obito to live because that was his best friend, but he didn't want things to turn drastic, and Hinata was pushing them to that level. She was challenging him and anyone else that dared try to he had to admit her growth in confidence over the years was truly alluring to him.

"Fine. You may be his personal bodyguard but he is no longer able to be a shinobi unless his life depends on it or he is called into action by me or the elders." Tsunade said and Hinata nodded. She had gotten exactly what she wanted. He breathed a soft sigh as he watched Hinata spin on her heel and hug the shackled Obito. He knew he could get out of the shackles and yet he stayed in them. Kakashi sighed as he watched them release the man from his shackles, the least they could have done was get him some clothes so he wasn't shirtless, but priorities, right?

When they got to his apartment, they immediately went through his closet to find clothes for Obito to wear. He buried his nose in an icha icha book and decided to ignore the two and their shenanigans. That was the thing, now that Obito was back he had no doubt that they would fall back into the same patterns that they'd held when they were younger, such as Obito constantly flirting with her. his nose scrunched up at the idea of his best friend flirting with his now girlfriend, soon to be wife.

He had to admit it was amusing when they came out of the room linked arm in arm and he was dressed exactly like him. "Hey look I'm Kakashi." Rin would have found it heavily amusing as well, such a shame she couldn't be around to witness this. A crinkle of the eyes and a wave of the hand and they followed him out of his home once more. He tried his best to squash the jealousy that Rose to the surface upon seeing them link arms and begin to whisper back and forth like he couldn't hear them.

As he had suspected Obito had begun flirting with her immediately. "Stop it," she giggled, "I'm with Kakashi and you know this." The jealousy was replaced with a smug feeling the moment she had said that to him. However that didn't stop Obito. "He can join in too, it'll be fun." He turned on his heel and began walking backwards, smiling beneath his mask. Upon noticing that he was getting protective, Obito tossed up both hands and pulled his face mask down. "I was just joking..." he said with a smile, but Kakashi didn't relent on pressing down on him with his presence.

Once Obito removed his hands from Hinata completely, he turned back around and ignored the comments on his jealousy. It wasn't hard to be jealous when someone you've known all your life comes back into the picture, especially since they both seemed to have a crush on each other as children. Kakashi wasn't normally a jealous man, but when it came to Hinata he was very protective over her. the last thing he could ever want is for someone to hurt her.

Hinata could feel his stare lingering on the two of them and she sighed. She could tell that he was getting jealous of her attentions towards Obito. It was hard not to be excited when your best friend was given amnesty, albeit hard fought. She wanted nothing more than to catch up and spend time with her friend but he seemed to feel some kind of way about it. she could understand that, seeing how he had always been jealous of how she and Obito interacted when they were younger. She could still remember the day he confessed to her as teens.

Kakashi made his way over to her and pulled her gently away from Obito. She was confused as to why he was being so pushy as of late and she couldn't stand it. "What's going on, Kakashi?" she asked and he continued to pull her away from the other boy. He pulled her off to a secluded location and she crossed her arms over her chest when he finally let her go. "Hinata... I..."he began, only for him to drop his arms down in defeat. She made her way over to him and grabbed his hands gently.

"Kakashi? Are you ok?" she asked and he shook his head as he looked up to her. He turned his hands in her grasp and gripped hers tightly for a moment before he pulled her to him and wrapped his arms around her gently. "I love you, Hinata..."

That was about the time they had started dating. She had been in love with him as well and had just been waiting on him to either say something or show her he felt the same way but it had taken forever for him to do so, so she had enjoyed the attentions of her best friend who she knew was in love with Rin. That was something that would never change she knew that much. Even with Rin gone, she knew Obito would never get over her.

She sighed as she looked at how Kakashi was looking at her once more from the corner of his eyes. She offred him a small smiled as she slunk further into Obito's side. If he wanted to be jealous then he could be just that. He leaned up and placed a kiss on Obito's cheek and she could see the narrowing of his eyes. She was going to see just how far she could push him, seeing as this petty jealousy had survived years without arising and now that Obito was back it was too.

They made their way into the clothing store and Obito made his way around looking at all the civilian clothing he would get to wear. An arm snaked itself around her hip and she looked up to see Kakashi smiling at her but she knew what was behind that masked smile. The creature writing in jealous anger. She was going to get a stern talking to when they got home and she knew it. that was fine with her, because he needed to get over his little jealous issue.

Hinata made her way over to Obito when he walked out wearing nice formal haori and hakamas. He was telling her about how he wanted to get the Uchiha fan embroidered on it and she nodded as she listened to him, adjusting his clothing to make him look more presentable. She could feel the eyes burning into her back and she knew that with every touch she made on Obito the look was getting more and more prominent. "You look very handsome, Obito-kun." She said and he offered her a small smile, only to then step away from her and hold his hands up once more.

She looked over and saw that Kakashi had that all too familiar crinkle of his eyes and a kunai spinning around his finger. Hinata rolled her eyes and gave him a dirty look. After a long day of searching the village for things Obito would need, they took him home to the Uchiha compound and returned to their own home. The walk was silent as they got to the front door, only for Kakashi to pull an all too familiar move. He grabbed her hand and pulled her into him once more. "I love you." He said and she smiled at him.

"And I love you." She whispered as he let her go, but she could tell he still had something on his mind. "What can I do to make you stop teasing me with my best friend?" he asked softly and Hinata looked up at him she knew exactly what he could do for her. she reached into his pocket and pulled out a small wrapped object that he always carried around with them. She twirled it around in her fingers as she looked up at him. "You can lose these..." she began as she poked one of her long nails through the package, making his eyes widen slightly.

"And get me pregnant."

She didn't have to wait before he scooped her up into his arms and all but kicked down the door to get inside. This was right where she wanted to be and with who she wanted. She meant the world to him and he meant the world to her, no matter how much they both loved Obito he would never be able to get in the way of their love.
