Chapter 7

"This is gonna hurt." Letty warned April as she began stitching the wound on her shoulder.

It had been revealed that the bullet had only grazed April's shoulder which only required stitches. Of course Dominics sister was the best at stitching up wounds but she was in a different country, safe so they had to work with what they had.

As Mr Nobody was also out of commission, Letty was the next best hope at stitching up April. Dominic wanted to wait however, though it best to integrate her before Letty did her work. Brian, Ramsey and even Letty didn't think it was fair seen as April was flickering between a conscious and unconscious state due to pain and blood loss.

30 minutes and several screams later, April was stitched up and sat infront on Dom who had been itching to integrate her about Deckard.

"I am not working with Deckard!" She screamed at him for the third time.

"Then why did he kidnap you?!" Dom asked, slamming his hand on the table that separated the two of them.

"Because he's an asshole and that's what he does!" April replied, standing up from the chair.

When Dom didn't reply, April scoffed. She began walking away only to be stopped by both Tej and Roman. They both stood infront of April blocking her exit.

"Really?" She scoffed before facing Dom once more. "You've got nowt left to say to me yet you won't let me leave." She sneered before trying to push past them both.

"Why'd he shoot you?" Dominic asked quietly causing April to stop in her tracks.

"What?" She turned round confused.

"I mean he could have easily shot you in the leg or chest or head but why the shoulder?" He questioned.

"Because he wanted me to become a liability. He knew I'd be able to still defend myself but would still be a liability in the long run." April explained quietly. "And I likely wouldn't die from the shot." She added in a whisper.

Both Tej and Roman looked April, shocked at how cruel Deckard seemed while Dom looked satisfied with the answer.

"He's not cruel or evil, it's just the way my family is." April said sadly, trying once more to walk away.

This time it was successful and April made her way over to Ramsey who was talking with Brian. Ramsey smiled at April as she approached and Brian simply nodded.

"Well, that was fun." April said sarcastically, trying and failing to move her shoulder.

"Did he understand?" Ramsey asked referring to Dom.

"Fuck knows." April replied before sitting down on a nearby chair infront of a laptop.

"Just give him time. Deckard killed a friend of his to get revenge on what we did to your other brother." Brian begun explaining.

"Yeah I understand, not to mention he sent a bomb and blew up Doms house." April muttered.

Both Brian and Ramsey just looked at April confused and surprised at her knowing the information.

"Deckard told me what he did. We had plenty of time to bond as he told me all of his plans. " She spat, resentment seeping from every word.

*Los Angeles, California*

They all stood next to one an other in a line looking out at the LA skyline. None of them broke the peaceful silence for awhile anyway.

"They have God's Eye now. It won't take them long to find us." April spoke, referring to her brother and his 'friends'.

"They won't stop until both me and April are dead." Ramsey replied.

No one said any other words and instead they went back to looking at the skyline.

April zoned out, looking at the skyline finding all the similarities and differences between LA and London.

"We play hot potatoe with Ramsey and April." Brian suggested after an age of silence.

"I'm sorry, what now?" April questioned at the sudden sound of her name.

*An hour later*

April eventually found an open garage and bought herself a car. The car in question this time was Mercedes benz SLK class in slight used condition but still in good enough working order.

Meeting back with the others, they went over the plan once more with the added bit where Dom would go after Deckard for one last attempt at revenge. Of course April didn't really want either of the alpha men to get hurt but she silently vowed to herself if Deckard seemed to be losing, she would ditch everything and go to him.

Placing a hand into her jacket pocket, she froze before chuckling quietly. Pulling her hand out, she discovered a small earpiece thay was put there by Deckard. She knew he would have the other one and most likely they would be able to here everything that was going on at the other end without even pressing a button.

She sighed and smiled to herself. Her brother did care about her, after everything he still cared for her like he always had done.

"Remember, we need to be within 2 miles of these guys." Brian reminded the team.

April refrained from rolling her eyes as she connected her phone to the built-in car radio. Of course the others skipped this step but to April, music made a world of difference to her performance most of the time.

Tapping along to the tune on the steering wheel, April smiled satisfied with her song choice.

As a team, they had collectively decided it would be best for them to split up. Ramsey with Tej and Roman to begin with while Brian, Letty and April were on stand by.

When Ramsey and April were first kidnapped, Ramsey made the smart decision to make the kidnappers aware that April had only helped with minor things with God's Eye. This led the kidnappers to believe April was unable to lock them out and therefore less of a threat.

They would target April but not before eliminating Ramsey first which gave the team as a whole a head start. Driving along with the others, April waited until everyone else spilt up before she also drove a different way.
