Travis POV
Sal: "do you need a ride home?" Why was he being so nice to me..I literally punched him in the face yesterday?.. I looked down the road, it was either get in a car with someone you had a crush on and hated or walk home in the cold..I sighed looking up to where the car was and nodded "yeah.." I got in the back of the car as the car was filled with silence, buckling up sals dad looked to rear view mirror
Sal's dad: "where we going kiddo"
"213 chapel St.." I hesitate as I spoke
Sal: "oh- you're really close to the apartments" "heh..yeah I guess"
Sal's dad: "a longs way for you to walk in the cold isn't it?"
"Yeah, my mom can't drive and my dad normally working"
Sal's dad: "what's your dad's work?" He asks as he looks in the rear view mirror
"he the priest at chapel hill.." it felt so awkward even though I knew that he was trying to make conversation Sal's dad: "must be a busy man that huh? "
"Yeah..it's this one here.."
Sal's dad: "alright be safe then"
I nodded as I got out of the car seeing the blue haired boy wave back at me I don't know why but that gave me the feeling to smile?. Giving him a wave back him getting closer to the door I couldn't help but not feel ready to be in that house or not after this morning.

**flash back**
Dad: "TRAVIS!" "H-huh?" *knock* *knock* *bang* *bang* felling the grogginess from what seemed like a long night seeming in this case that dad didn't have the patience in him this morning, yet ever sense he start making me work up on chapel hill on weekends. He be come even more impatient when what it started as, I didn't mind the work plus It's not like I had friends, so like it matter. My legs suede as I sat up on to the bed rubbing my eyes "I'm up, im up" the banging forward a little after though I couldn't tell if it was this footsteps or not.

dad: "well hurry it up already I'm going to be late" I gave in a sigh like I always do, as I putt on the clothes which were just the clothes I wore yesterday, hoping today could be a better morning
dad: "come on come on!" Feeling the tap of his foot from the other side of the door. As I grabbed my thing I could hear that he had left the door side hading on going down stairs he was no where to be seen

"where's dad?"
Mom: "he left just a couple minutes ago" sighing in annoyance i rolled my eyes "of course.." walking out the door I just said bye to mom and left.

**end of flashback**
If he wasn't so frustrated this morning he was sure going to be now. hesitantly open the door I spoke in a horse whisper "I'm home.." though no one had answer, looking around in the kitchen there had been left overs on the counter with a note "had leftovers from making lunch, make sure you do your homework-dad" "oh.." in surprisance I smiled thinking in my had that this was ver unlike of him.

Did he want something from me? And where is mom?, thinking to myself I throw the container in the microwave hearing the silence in the house was calming but ye mysterious grabing my phone out of my pocket I looked at the time seeing it now was 3 past 10 he should had been home by now, question on what my father was plotting I had gotten a phone call from him, "hello? Oh hey dad.. yeah I'm heating it up now" I held my phone with my shoulder as I take the container out of the microwave "yeah, oh where's mom? Oh...yeah was just wondering, okay  yeah. bye" sitting down with my food on the table taking small bits as I started on my homework
Feeling the thought in the back of my head was the fact he was being so sweet could have been him trying to make up for what happened this morning? Or did mom talk to him? I mean I know things have been worse lately but there wasn't really a point on him making a effort, he was just a over working maniac so how could he be so nice yet so frustrating at the same time.

Sal's pov
Dad:"so who was?" He sounded confused and concerned in a way as I stared out the window "oh, that's Travis he's a class friend.." dad:"mm..he's not much of a talker is he?"
"No not really he doesn't really have many friends so yeah.." i laughed jokingly
"I see, I have some errands to run do you want me? Or drop you off at the apartments?" "You can just drop me off," pulling into the parking lot and dropped me off I walked to the door light snow would fall in to my hair slight melting into my ear muffs, stomping the snow off of my shoes, i got into the lobby with the chill of the out side start to soften, the blast of the heaters filled the room having my body regulate to the temperature. As I got into the lift the dim elevator music played, once I got into my room my phone ring "an unknown number?.." usually I wouldn't answer but it was the same area code so I answered "hello?" Travis:" s-sal.." he was being really quick with his words " "Travis? I- is everything okay?there was a banging in the background "Travis?.." Travis:"can I come over.." "yeah yeah " Travis: " im-" it sounded like he was trying to apologize yet the call was starting to cut out, "just get here safe.." "I wi-" then the call end abruptly, as stood sitting on the couch my leg shaking in anxiety, having it been a hour sense the call feeling the  worry in my head wasn't helping. Shortly before everything I could hear soft foot steps out side the door I couldn't tell if it was Travis or not, having what seem a life time the person that stood there knocked, hesitating to open the door.
