Beyond Saving Bucky

Look at you being bold....

Steve's POV:

I'm sitting at the kitchen table as everyone is coming in for breakfast. My mind is going a million miles a minute, replaying Bucky's and my conversation from last night. Could he be right? Could she....mmmm, I close my eyes, and inhale her scent. I can smell her before she enters the room. When I look up towards the kitchen doorway, I see her walk in.

Her hairs wet, she's fresh out of shower. Shes saying good morning to everyone, and I watch as her eyes fall on me. She smiles and makes her way towards me.

Steve: "good morning, sweetheart" I say, returning her smile. She takes the open seat next to me.

Olivia: "morning" she replies, holding my gaze.

My heart is racing....

Steve: "how did you sleep?"

I watch her eyes roam over my face before she replies, "a little restless, to be honest."

I can hear her heartbeat....why is it pounding so hard? She continues to hold my gaze, as Tony's voice breaks through.

Tony: "where's our new super soldier this morning?" He asks.

She breaks the eye contact to respond to him.

Olivia: "he'll be down in a minute" she says as she picks up a piece of toast, taking a bite as she looks at me again.

Thor: "why does it feel weird in here...I feel...tension..." he whispers

Nat: "shhhh....im trying to listen..."

Tony: "ok well he's gonna train with us today. Thor and Nat, get ready. Cap..."

I can't take my eyes off of hers.....one is a beautiful brown...the other has a green hue to it....

Tony: "cap? CAP?!"

Steve: "yea?" I say, finally looking in his direction.

Tony: "you're gonna sit this one out. I don't need 2 super soldiers kicking my ass today, ok? Hey, there you are"

Bucky walks into the room, and is talking to Thor as he grabs another cup of coffee.

Olivia: "hey...I um....i have some things I wanted to do today...come with me?" She asks me as she leans forward and places her hand on my knee.

I see Bucky leaning against the counter, sipping his coffee as he watches us. I can see the smile he's hiding behind his mug. Shit I think, shaking my head and look back at her.

Olivia: "please...?" She asks.

Bucky: "you know it's a nice day out...you should take her for a ride, Steve? I haven't been able to...and she loves it...." He says, quirking his brows at me.

Steve: "how about it crazy? Go for a ride with me?"

Olivia: "I'd love that"

Steve: "be ready in an hour?"

Nat: "wow....." Nat whispers as she looks between the 3 of us.

Olivia: "yes sir" she's smirks and stands to head to her room.

I glare at Bucky as she leaves the room.

I stand up to head to mine, and stop beside Bucky.

Steve: "You told her...."

Bucky: "we had a...conversation...but I didn't...I mean..."

I scoff as I start to walk away.

Steve: "didn't think I'd tell her myself?"
