"What are you staring at?"

"Nothing..." The boy brushed his friend off, his eyes remaining on the girl who sat at the opposite side of the dininghall.

The boy's eyes narrowed as he watched the girl pull out her phone, reading the notification that her screen read.

He ran the flat of his tongue across his teeth, feeling his chest tighten at the reaction of the girl.

He watched her as the color faded from her face.

He might've been the reason why, but it still pained him to see her like that though...

"Are you sure there's nothing? Cause it seems like you're staring at that girl over there." The boy's friend pointed out, his voice low, just loud enough for his friend to hear.

All the boy did was sigh in response, shaking his head in the process.

"You know she has a boyfriend, right?" His friend asked, referring to the guy who sat next to her.

The boy's eyes glowered as he watched the guy interlock his fingers with hers, caressing her hand with his thumb.

A faint smile present on her face as the guy pressed a soft kiss against the corner of her lips.

"I know." The boy finally answered his friend, averting his eyes to the phone in his hand.

"Not for long though..." He mumbled the last part, almost inaudible.

This was just the beginning...
