The sound of Kuroo's volleyball shoes squeaking after landing on the court echoed through the gymnasium.

"Keep em' coming." He smirked at Atsumu, wiping away the sweat on his forehead with the back of his hand.

The team was currently having a practice match, using this as their opportunity to improve and enhance their skills.

Suna's chest heaved while he stretched his muscles, trying to catch his breath. He glared at Kuroo from the other side of the net, watching the smirk on his face grow.

Rin possessed a sharp instinct, akin to a sixth sense. Not only was he quick to adapt to the other team's tactic to put up an effective defense, but he was also capable of rotating his entire upper torso while spiking to increase his range without it having effect on his power.

He had met few who were able to receive it, let alone block it, yet here he stood, in front of the one and only.

Kuroo licked his lips, catching his breath as well.

Bokuto's eyes darted back and forth between his friend Kuroo and the opposite team member Suna, noticing the intense eye-contact they held.

"Damn..." Atsumu slightly panted, his hands on his lower thighs as he tried to get his heart to beat at a normal pace again. "You seem to have endless stamina today, huh?"

Kuroo chuckled in response as he shook his head, Bokuto's eyebrows furrowing together.

"Yeah..." He trailed off, turning to face his friend. "Any particular reason for that?" Bokuto cleared his throat.

"Nahh..." Kuroo nonchalantly shook his head. "Just had a good night's sleep." He shrugged, walking past his friend to rotate out with their libero.

Kuroo's shoes squeaked again as he landed from another jump. He had gone way past his jumping limit, and if it hadn't been for his adrenaline rush, he wouldn't have been able to set another step.

"MATCH POINT!"

Rintarō cursed to himself, running a hand over his face in frustration as Kuroo had blocked another one of his spikes.

Kuroo smirked to himself, as he had spent months trying to think of a way to break his wide-range spike.

He hated to admit it, but Suna Rintarō was a formidable player...

Rin was insanely skilled at analyzing his opponents, determining who and how he had to block their attacks.

He always had this blank, straight face. He was inexpressive and therefore hard to read.

What pissed Kuroo off even more was the fact that Suna was lazy. He tended to slack off when their team had a huge point lead or seemed to be winning the game.

Kuroo was excellent at pressuring opponents and was considered a blocking expert by many, yet his ability didn't seem to work at Suna.

Until now...

Rintarō chuckled quietly, his hand shaking in what seemed to be resentment.

Bokuto and Atsumu shared a look, both of them unsure of what to say.

Everyone else on the court noticed the toxic tension between Suna and the team captain as well, including their coach, who was quick to blow his whistle.
