"Chaos in Midtown Manhattan, a burst of radiation came from an unknown source causing the death of 19 civilians along with destruction to nearby buildings-"

The News Broadcast was cut short when Isabelle shut off the television. Her eyes lingered on the screen, her reflection looking back at her, she could see how her eyes drooped, a semi-permanent frown, and eye bags that darkened with every hour she spent trying to locate whoever did this.

Isabelle was stretched thin, being one of the lead investigators of the case she was relied upon to provide answers and ease the minds of the millions, but she had absolutely nothing to give.

Isabelle leaned over and opened one of the drawers on her desk and plucked out a small cosmetics bag and began to retouch her make-up and as she was strategically applying concealer to areas that desperately needed it, frazzled knocks emitted from the other side of the door,

"Give me a minute!" Isabelle called out as she sped up her movements before she grabbed some lip-gloss from the small bag and brushed it upon her lips, smacking them a few times to ensure that the application was flawless.

"Okay, come in." She said as she used the tips of her fingers to fluff up her bangs.

The door swung open to reveal one of the many interns assigned to the case, she were holding a box that was stacked with files in her hands before she proceeded to hurl them onto the desk.

"I think we found our suspect, it's a long shot, but something is better than nothing right?" The Intern, named Lucille said as she reached towards the stack of files picked up the one on the tippy top.

She opened it and handed it towards Isabelle, "We think our suspect is Soldier Boy."

Isabelle stared back at Lucille in utter confusion, "Who?"

The name sounded fairly familiar, but she couldn't pinpoint where she heard it from. Her eyes flickered down to the file and she skimmed through the basic information that was available as well a photo that was clipped on.

"Soldier Boy was a popular hero from the 1980s, you know, he fought for American's liberty and helped in the Second World War? Oh! And he was apart of the hero team called the Payback." Lucille explained.

Isabelle shook her head softly as none of that even rung a bell in her head, "Maybe I learned about that in High school, but that was forever ago." She stated as she flipped through the file.

"Let me just show you this video real quick, maybe seeing him might be better than me trying to explain with words." Lucille suggested as she reached into the side of the box and picked up a VHS.

Isabelle placed the file down onto the desk and crossed her arms, leaning forward onto the desk as she watched Lucille walk towards the TV, Isabelle was ready to open her mouth as the likeness of having an VHS player laying around was low as after 2002 everyone began to use DVDs. Yet, when Lucille manage to dig one out from the depths of the console, Isabelle decided to keep her mouth shut.

Eventually Lucille was able to get the VHS console working and the TV lit up, and the introduction of the show Solid Gold began to blare out, Isabelle scrunched her nose as she spoke, "What the hell is this?"

"Just watch," Lucille hushed her.

She watched as the introduction faded and the same man that was shown in the file photo was now standing on stage, holding a microphone, background dancers, flashing lights, all the works.

"Fab Five Freddy told me everybody's fly, DJ spinnin' I said, "My My" Flash is fast, Flash is cool.."

Isabelle was really trying her hardest to keep a straight face, but she was struggling. Her lips curved upwards and she attempted to cover it up with her hand as despite finding this pretty humorous, this was the same suspect that had both caused death and destruction. She glanced up at Lucille,

"Shut it off.." She muttered, "And while you are doing that, explain to me why you think he is our suspect because you are making me lose my fucking marbles over here."

Lucille nodded, "Of course, we think that he is our suspect because when our team was doing some digging on some international news networks we found out there was a breech in an Russian government facility stationed within the area that was the last known location of Soldier Boy."

"But it says on his file he died in battle in Ohio," She stated.

"It was a cover-up story, from what the team and I had dug around there was nothing about any battle, accidents, or anything in Ohio on the day of his death or days leading to it." she explained before adding, "There was also a man that was scene on security cameras in an Russian Airport boarding an flight to America, but no one knew where the hell he came from, and that same flight landed here in Manhattan."

"But what if this is just a confidence?" Isabelle asked as she was finding it really hard to believe her words.

"We managed to get a face from the camera footage, compared it to both the age progressive photos as well as witness statements.. They all line up." Lucille said.

Isabelle stayed silent, as she wasn't sure if this was a risk she was willing to take. What if Lucille was hooked on some drugs and was just rambling away? Yet, the public was waiting for answers to who could be responsible for this tragedy.

"You got an location?" Isabelle asked.

Lucille dug through her pocket and placed a folded up piece of paper on the desk.

Isabelle reached over, picking up the paper, unfolding it and reading the address, "You gotta be fucking kidding me."
