Soldier Boy found himself adjusting nicely to Modern Society as more days passed. He had spent a good deal learning to navigate the internet, not causing a scene in public areas, and constructing missions with Butcher and Hughie.
But he also had to deal with having Isabelle as his roommate.
As per the agreement Butcher and her made back at the Motel, she would act as his babysitter while Butcher and Hughie attended to other matters; and when they needed him, she had to give him surrender over.
It wasn't all that bad -- Soldier Boy was able to take back some privacy as Isabelle lent him the spare bedroom in her luxury apartment, meaning cameras weren't following him 24/7. The fridge was stocked with food, so he could eat whatever he wanted and whenever he wanted; he would've gone insane if he had to go through another day eating the slop those Russian gave him.
Isabelle often left him alone with rules that he could only go to the corner store and that he couldn't use his powers unless he was with Butcher and Hughie.
Thank goodness she didn't say he couldn't have any fun.

The look of annoyance was obvious on Isabelle's face as she stood in the middle of the elevator. Her shoulders slumped slightly as the stress from work weighed heavy upon them, the top buttons on her blouse was open as by the time lunch rolled around, she felt like she was being strangled by them. Her long , brunette locks were pulled back into sloppy up-do because if another strand touched her face, there was a high chance she could have taken a pair of scissors to it.
The elevators doors opened and she pushed herself off the wall, beginning her walk down the hallway towards her apartment door.
All she could think about was heating up some leftovers from the night before, or maybe noodles if she wasn't feeling it, and pouring herself a tall glass of whatever alcohol she could fish out from the depth of the cabinets.
