Isabelle stared down at the piece of paper that had coordinates scribbled on it.
Her eyes flickered upwards and landed on the janky motel before her, she than crumbled up the piece of paper within the palm of her hand before tucking it back into her coat pocket. She began to walk along towards the entrance, but than she stopped when through the corner of the eye she spotted an employee pushing a cleaning cart. Isabelle pivoted her heel, hurrying towards the elder lady,
"Excuse me ma'am." Isabelle began.
The older women's eyes flickered up and landed on Isabelle, she straightened her posture a little bit as she watched Isabelle get closer.
"I really need your help with something, I'm looking for this man here." Isabelle reached back into her coat pocket and took out the photo from Soldier Boy's file, holding it over the women's face.
The women's eyes squinted as she focused on the photo before she began to smile, her finger going into her hair, taking a piece and swirling it around her finger. This lady was acting like a school girl with a crush.
The Older Women turned her head and pointed towards the stairs, "You go upstairs and it's the third room to your right,"
"Wonderful! Thank you so much," Isabelle exclaimed as she began heading towards the stairs.
"You better be careful with him," The Older Women called out after Isabelle.
Thinking the women was simply joking around Isabelle replied, "I will!"
"He gets pretty handsy when hes' frisky!"
Isabelle stopped in her tracks and did a double-take, "W-What..?"
"When you get him riled up, and you better take advantage of his strength. I know for sure those arms can do more than just hold." She winked at him before she turned back around and grabbed her cleaning cart, walking along.
Isabelle stood there, "What the fuck..", she whispered as her jaw practically on the floor at this point. She closed her mouth and turned back around, slowly nodding her head as she walked up the stairs.
She managed to compose herself right as she approached the motel room, giving it a gentle knock before stepping back.
The door slowly opened to reveal a scrunkly looking man, "Good evening madam, how may I help you today?"
The man before her could be described as dashing, he had dark brunette locks that appeared black in the dim lighting. She could see his eyes, that were close to an olive green color, flicker from her face and than down her body. Yet, it wasn't in the sense that he was checking her out, it was more so like he was analyzing her.
"I'm just looking for this man," She called out the photo of Soldier Boy from her pocket once again.
The man before her leaned over and stared at the photo before shaking his head softly, "No no, haven't seen that man at all.. well besides in my history book." He let out a small chuckle as he stepped back and went to close the door.
Using her quick thinking, Isabelle hastily placed her foot within the frame of the door, preventing this man from closing the door on her.
"I highly doubt that you don't know where this man is, that cleaner back there told me he was up here. So you either tell me where he is, or I will have to take extra precautions to get when I want." Isabelle explained, the tone of her voice shifting from light and cordial to something more stringent or harsh.
There was no answer from the man behind the door, he than slowly let up allowing her to open the door fully and enter the motel room.
"Thank you," Isabelle muttered as she looked around the door and her eyes finally landed on him, Soldier Boy.
Isabelle closed the door behind her and examined the room, "What is going on in here?" She asked the room.
There was deafening silence.
"Okay, don't do this to me." She scoffed and raised her hands, "I'm not going to do anything to anyone, I don't even have a weapon on me. Why don't we go around and do little introduction hm? You," She pointed to the man the initially opened the door for her, "Go first."
"What a demanding lady you are," He huffed as he spoke, "Butcher."
"You?" She than asked the other man, the more nerdier looking on.
"Hughie, Hughie Campbell." He said and gave her a small smile.
Isabelle's eyes locked onto Soldier Boy, "I already know your name, so no need to say it."
Soldier Boy scoffed softly and titled his head, "Oh really now? I'm feel very flattered that you already know my name, on top of that I noticed you were looking for me. I bet you want autograph?" He asked her.
Before Isabelle could respond, Soldier Boy leaned over and yanked out the photo of himself from her hand and placed it onto the table.
"Any of you got pen or something?" He asked Butcher and Hughie.
"I can't believe you-" She grabbed the photo from the table and shoved it back into her pocket, "Do you not remember what you did? Killed 19 fucking people, injured many more, and destroyed half a building!"
"No need to get all technical around here, he was just.. scared right? The man just came out of some tube thing, the last thing he remembers is being in the 1980s." Butcher explained.
"I'm sure he didn't mean to do all that.." Hughie came to Soldier Boy's defense, yet his voice lacked any authority.
"Come on little lady, you don't need to get riled up on something like that, you heard them, It was an accident nothing more and nothing less." Soldier Boy said, leaning back in his chair.
"Aren't you all a little delusional." Isabelle shook her head softly as she spoke.
Butcher walked Isabelle, "The same goes to you, come on, you can't just waltz in here and expect people to take you seriously. We hardly even know who the hell you are."
"Fine, fine. My name is Isabelle Livingstone, I work with Vought's Special Investigations' unit. I was assigned to work on the case of whatever Soldier Boy caused, haven't gotten the orders to formerly arrest him yet as he is technically legally dead." She than went on to add, "But I'm one call away from exposing whatever this is, though I'm willing to let you give me a reason not to."
Isabelle asked as she walked towards the bed in the center of the room, plopping down onto it with a small huff, "Come on, I'm waiting."
