I was waiting outside for Dylan when I finally saw the front door open. He walked out in a hoodie, slightly bigger than his, and some jeans.
He walked over to me smiling, "So what are we exactly doing??" He asked. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped mine around his pulling him closer. I pecked him on the lips.
I had to change some plans around since what happened earlier and just make it a relaxing time for him, "Order something to eat and watch a movie. Is that alright??" I asked him.
He smiled uo at me like saying that was what he needed, "Of course," he replied. I smiled lightly and opened his door for him.
-------------------------------
I was driving down the road, it has been mostly quiet until I heard Dylan speak, "I remember coming down here a lot with my mom and dad."
I was surprised that he would come to a closed off area as a kid, "When was the last time you were down here??" I asked him.
I heard him sigh as he rested his head against the window, "My brother's funeral..." he replied sadly.
I was taken a back, "If you don't mind me asking, what happened??"
For a moment, I thought he was not going to respond until he did in a tiny voice, "Mom and dad was at work and I was supposed to be watching him, but I went upstairs to go get him something," he explained and I knew this was going to take a turn I didn't like at all. He took a deep breath before continuing, "And when I came back downstairs, I couldn't find him. I looked towards the front door and it was open...."
Fucking hell, I thought.
"I rushed outside and saw him....... laying in the road...... dead," he forced out, "with blood everywhere."
I reached my hand over the seat and placed it on his thigh gently. He grabbed my hand and held onto it tightly, "My parents blamed me cause I wasn't watching him.... or the front door was shut. After that, we never really talked that much. They had the maids feed and take care of me," he said in a small broken voice.
I looked over at him and the sight broke my heart. He was holding back tears. I felt his grip tighten, "I guess because they couldn't stand looking at me anymore...." he explained which I thought was bullshit.
Everything he told me about his parents, made me hate them more and more.
"We still don't talk that much except them paying the bills on the house I live in..." he continued.
I held onto his hand tightly, "It wasn't your fault Dylan," I soothed him.
"Like hell it isn't. I was supposed to be watching him, not leave him by himself," he threw back sadly.
It still broke my heart when he never believed what I told him, "You couldn't predict that he was going to get out Dyl," I soothed him again.
"Tell that to my parents," he replied. And after that he fell quiet still holding my hand for dear life.
And I knew there was a lot more coming my way, and I prepared myself the best I could.
--------------------
I rolled to a stop outside of my house and looked over at Dylan. His eyes were wide as he stared in amuzement, "Wow.... This is.... beautiful," he said while staring.
I chuckled lightly, "It belonged to my parents," I informed him. He looked over at me and I still saw the shock and amusement in his eyes, "We still keep in contact every now and then, but you know. Work," I explained to him. He nodded as if he couldn't find the words.
"It's official. I am moving in with you," he said fondly.
I laughed. We both got out of the car and I walked over to Dylan. I was shocked when he was the one to grab my hand first as I led inside the house.
----
We walked to the living room and he sat down still amused with the place, "What do you want to order??" I asked him.
"Whatever is fine with me. Just no seafood, allgeric," he told me and I nodded.
"Got it. While I order, go pick a movie. Remote is on the table or tv stand," I told him.
He nodded as I left and ordered the food.
I stayed longer as I thought about our relationship. It was obvious it was hard for him to except that someone, other than Christian, cared for him. And I was willing to show him that I cared.
I eventually went back in there and saw he picked a movie called, 'The Social Network" and we waited for the food. After a while it finally came and we started the movie.
--------------------
After the movie, I looked down and saw that Dylan fell asleep on my shoulder. I smiled lightly.
I grabbed some covers and put it over him while I gently got up and laid him down gently. He shifted lightly but stayed asleep.
I heard my phone ringing in the kitchen and I walked towards the phone. I saw it was Christian as I sat on a bar stool.
"Hello??" I answered the phone.
"Hey man. I was thinking earlier back at Dylan's workplace, when I thought of something," he explained.
"What about it??" I asked him.
"The owner might actually have something to do with it," he stated.
"How so?? Besides hitting Dylan," I growled lightly at the last part.
"We were keeping an eye on his messages and calls. Sheriff Walker called earlier and said that he just recently contacted James Wilkerson tonight," he explained. That had my attention. If he claims he is innocent, why contact another suspect??
I looked over at Dylan from the barstool and saw his face scrunch up slightly but go relaxed again, "Do you know what about??"
"No they messaged. But I better go before Diamond murders me for not washing the dishes," he rushed out.
Just ass he said that I heard Diamond in the background screaming, "CHRISTIAN REED IF YOU DO NOT GET IN HERE AND WASH THESE DAMN DISHES, YOU ARE GOING TO BE THE NEXT PERSON IN THE FUCKING MORGUE!!!"
I laughed as he quickly hung up the phone after saying bye.
I looked over at Dylan again, 'What happened to you??"
