"You walked into my life like you had always lived there, like my heart was a home built just for you."

"Kaya, wake up." A voice softly calls out as a click sound registers in my ears. I didn't want to move or wake up. It was so warm, so comfortable, so nice.
Wait. No. Hold on a second. I slept? In peace?
I jerk upright and find that the car had stopped moving, my seatbelt no longer in place, a large towel thrown over me and him hovering above me. His head was cocked to the side, observing me like a hawk would it's prey.
"Where are we?" I ask as I look around the place. Nothing felt remotely familiar, and I wasn't sure whether I should be relieved that I wasn't close to home or if I should feel anxious because I didn't know where I was.
"Get out." was the only reply I get as he backs away to give me the space to get out of his car.
Wherever this place was, it was far away from the cemetery and his and my house. Surprisingly, my clothes were almost dry, and my hair was now only just a little damp.
As I get out of the car, I try to look around again. It had stopped raining, but the skies remained grey and cloudy, still threatening for more rainfall and thunder. Around us, there were nothing but trees and bushes. No sounds of traffic, or people could be heard. It was complete silence. But not the awkward or uncomfortable kind. The silence was peaceful. If only my mind was this quiet.
He closes the car door behind me and locks the car before turning around and starts walking off. Like the lost puppy I was, I obediently follow, not wanting to be left behind in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes I wished to be like his sister Minori just so I can live independently and tackle down any man or woman. But the thought of killing in cold blood will never be something I would be capable of.
It doesn't take long for the uneven rock filled gravel to turn into smooth concrete that leads to large glossy black gates that situates itself in front of a . . . mansion? Here in the middle of nowhere?
He taps in some code and the gate immediately opens and I watch in awe. I grew up surrounded by wealth and everything that screams money, but I was yet to see a mansion that looked as beautiful as this. So modern yet so vintage?
It was styled in a bold yet subtle wooden tree house way, but each pillar and modelling of the house was framed in black emitting an elegant finish to the mansion. Most walls from I could see were made of glass which enabled access to the calming view of rows after rows of trees and nature. At the top of mansion, I could see railing which made me believing that maybe you could even watch the view in something similar to that of a bird's eye view. Perfect for star gazing I think to myself.
"What are you doing? Come." He demands in that authoritative way that for reasons unknown to me loved and hated at the same time. I oblige, quickly walk past the gates and inside the mansion door.
He once again punches in some code that opened the door to the mansion, which made me wonder if the two were the same. But I immediately shake the thought remembering who this man was. No way even in death would he have use the same code.
