Agastya's Pov

It has been 2 months since I have moved to States. The collaboration project with the Andrews is progressing well. I was supposed to go back after a month but stayed back for another month as I couldn't gather up my courage to meet Vaani after the thing I did out of my insecurity. It's our marriage anniversary in a month and also the end of our contract. In the past month, I feel like our relationship turned way too formal. Our calls reduced to messages and eventually messages reduced to one message per day.

This last week we didn't message each other at all. Out of worry I called up Sahana to ask about Vaani's whereabouts and was told that she left for a business trip to Bangalore and would be back after five days.

The weather outside was pleasantly warm. I was exiting the cafe when I bumped into a man. I turned around to say sorry but to my surprise I came face to face with Dev.

'Hey man ! How have you been ?' Dev greeted me with a hug.

'I am okay. What about you ?' I asked, a slight smile resting on my face.

'I am all good and in love and in ache right here.' He said, pointing to his left side of the chest.

'Is your health okay ?' I asked in a concerned voice.

'I am in that same ache you are in.' He said, giving me a teasing smile.

'Me ?' I asked, bewildered.

'Ohh dude ! Aren't you dying to meet Vaani ?' He questioned. 'Well, I am dying to meet Sahana.'

'Ohh !' After some pause, I replied, 'yah.'

'Then why the hell aren't you going back ?' Dev asked.

'First let's take a seat.' I said.

After settling down, I said, 'Dev, you aren't getting it.'

'What am I not getting Agastya ? Just one month is left for you to make amends.' Dev stated.

'You know about.....' Before I could finish, Dev cut me off and said, 'Yah ! I know. Vaani told me. And chill, it's only Shashank and me who know.' He continued, 'now tell me what's holding you back.'

I stayed quite for a while but finally decided on spilling the beans. I told him everything about my trust issues, our marriage, how we decided to give our marriage a try, my meet up with Pragya two months back and my stupid decision of running away.

'Tell me one thing Agastya, will you be okay if Vaani dates and then marries someone else ?'

'I think she deserves better.' I replied.

'Oh yah ! Oh then good.' Dev said, his tone sarcastic.

'Good ?'

'Yah ! Actually I think you know that Vaani went to Bangalore on a business trip right ?'

'Yaaa.' I replied.

'I heard from Sahana that Vaani's partner in this project is some Sarthak Roychowdhury, CEO of the SRC Corporation is quite interested in Vaani and that our grumpy Vaani did have some quality time with Mr. Roychowdhury out of the business schedule.'

'WHAT ??????'

'Sorry.' I murmured on realising I was way too loud.

'Why ? Didn't you just say few minutes back that you want Vaani to have a nice life with someone she deserves to be with ?'

'No. Oh, no.....I mean yah....but...'

Dev cut me off and said, 'listen Agastya, if you want don't want that Sarthak to sweep Vaani off her feet and if you don't want to sing "Channa Mereya" in their wedding, stop being a coward and keep your wife to yourself.'

'Right.' I released a determined sigh.

'Good luck dude. I am team Agastya.' Dev said, patting my shoulder.

'Also I guess you know that Shashank and Tisham are tying the knot ?' Dev asked.

'Yah ! Shashank called me up.' I said.

'Shashank is also team Agastya but unfortunately team Vaani is strong too. Tisham and Sahana are team Vaani.'

Dev continued, 'If you don't Vaani to switch to team Sarthak then you must hurry up.'

'I must.' I said, determined.

Mrs. Basu, be ready to become Mrs. Basu, once again.
