Luna did not like to follow instructions. One of his greatest weaknesses. Every single coach and manager he came along his career path hated that part of him. He put on a mask and a New York Yankees cap you could buy at any sports-wear store as he made his way up the stairs to the Hiroshima green arena. How he managed to do that? Simple. First he flew to Tokyo and had a meeting with the other players and then, right after he has been explained to that up until the matches against those evolving country losers, he could do anything in Japan and luckily he knew what to do. Luna then rushed out of the meeting and bought a train ticket to Hiroshima. After a 4 hour long trip thanks to the Shinkansen, he arrived his destination, just in time for him to snatch the last ticket for the Japan men's team volleyball game. The best part of it: He got one for the first row. Even better for him. Now he could film the match and send it to his brother. Luna reached into his pocket and got out his phone. An online ticket has been opened by him. The bodyguard took a scanner and after the green light brightening on that device, he was let through. Many people with red or black Japan jerseys walked through the gate he just came from. It was also very surprising for him to see so many fans for such an underrated sport.
'Guess the football comunity is just bigger, but the volleyball one isn't small either. Especially in Japan...', Luna thought and entered the huge gymnasium. There, he could see both teams warming up. Hinata Shoyo, the man that translated for him kindly stood there with a volleyball in his hands. He threw the ball into the air and passed it overhand to the blonde guy who lend him the marker. From the basics Luna's little brother taught him, the attacker on the left side of the court shall run up once the ball is in the hands of the setter. But this guy has already been in the air, before the ball has even touched the hands of that blonde guy whom Luna assumed to be a setter. Hinata started to swung his arm. In the blink of an eye the ball was passed right into his right hand and was immediately slammed into the ground.
'What the fuck has just happened...', Luna thought."Why do you keep trying to go after your dream, Rin?", Yoichi asked him the night before the game in the gym that could move them to the next stage. "Why is your dream to play along side your brother as the greatest duo?"
"Because that's what I set myself when I started to play football.", Rin answered. "That has always been the only motivation for me to keep going."
"You know, your brother shouldn't really be the only motivation of yours to move forward, right?", Yoichi said bored and thought of some ways to get his phone back.
"He is! It is my dream to play alongside him.", Rin argued back.
"Why don't you change that dream of yours to surpass him instead?", the raven haired said and decided to do some pull ups instead of fantasizing about something impossible.
"What do you mean?"
"Your brother is a midfielder, right?", Yoichi made sure.
"Yes he is.", Rin answered.
"So why don't you surpass him as a striker, so he can support you from the midfield?", Yoichi asked. "Working as a striker duo will never happen, since your brother has found his position on the pitch. He won't have any stupid and senseless thoughts of trying to fulfill that stupid day dream of yours."
"No he will! One day..."
"Wake up little boy.", Yoichi didn't let him speak. "Your brother found his role. Now it's time for you to find yours, little wanker."Rin snapped back to reality. Maybe there was something behind those words of the raven haired. He looked at the orange haired in front of him who restarted the ball. That guy wouldn't give him a rest with all those muscles. Kunigami kicked the ball to Reo who took it immediately into the direction of the box. Yoichi has positioned himself in front of the purple haired. This was going to be it. The play where he will equalize the game. Reo crossed the ball to Kunigami before Yoichi got to him. The raven haired just smirked. Instead of following Reo to lock down one of the attackers, he ran around him to get to the goal. Why? Because Rin intercepted the ball.
'What the fuck?', Reo thought and stared at Rin trapping the ball, just to dribble into the direction of the goal. He immediately crossed it to Yoichi. Chigiri immediately sprinted and caught up to the raven haired.
"You're still not as fast as I am, Kageyama.", Chigiri muttered. Yoichi just smiled at that sight of his former teammate.
"I don't need to."
He kicked the ball with a light pass to a player, who has waited for a chance all game long.
"The villain in the shadow shall rise up again and become a threat to the life of you peasants.", Yoichi narrated as Rin rushed to the ball and dashed through the remaining of an unexisting defense. Before Chigiri could intervene, Yoichi jumped out of the blind spot of his sight and set a screen to prevent the cheetah to bug Rin.
"Going somewhere?", Yoichi asked mockingly. Meanwhile Nagi rushed past them.
"Here comes the support-", he murmered in a dead panned tone.
"You are on lock down, my hidden gem!", Reo caught up to him. But that didn't matter anymore. Rin surprisingly won the body battle and pushed himself forward with the arm that held off Kunigami. With a big swing and a huge amount of power loaded inside his right leg, he made his last step. The last step. No adjustments now. He hit the ball with so much brute force that the fingers of the goal keeper weren't strong enough to deflect the ball. 4-4. The scores were now tied.
"Oh, how I love screens.", Yoichi muttered his toughts out loud. "They're small movements and have yet such a great impact."
"Hey, Kageyama.", Chigiri stopped him from celebrating the existance of screens in any type of sport. "Why didn't you go around me? Why did you pass?"
"Because it would have been boring, scoring all the goals the same way.", Yoichi answered and walked past him. Both Bachira and Nagi were staring at him. A look that leaks the greet to score a goal.
