Yoichi rushed through the field. He had no attack pattern in mind, but he moved anway. Almost like a foreign force making him move that way. No one could stop him in this state. He felt invincible. The lines and the view from above gave him the best view of the pitch. Everything he should do, he has to do was laid out in various ways. He dashed behind Otoya and used the blind spots of both his teammate and Shidou, the guy marking the blonde. Nanase, who he supposed was marking him, was simply too slow to do his job for a permanent time. An irrelevant threat, a fly in the room. Soon he overtook Shidou. Otoya seeing this kicked the ball into his runway preparing an easy first touch, so that he wouldn't lose tempo to receive it. Yoichi took it and dribbled for the right side. Rin saw that comming and rushed over for a ball pressing.
"Give it here, Kageyama!!!!", Chigiri shouted from the other side. Yoichi ignored that. He had different intentions.
'I am the best fucking player on this pitch, because I can score goals.', Yoichi taunted inside his mind and got past Rin with a simple spin around inspired by Leonardo Luna, his previous opponent. 'Fuck that shit. I am the best player because...'
Nanase finally managed to catch up to him with Rin right behind him. A two man pressing attack. Yoichi stretched out his arm and bodied the boy with the bandana. At least he couldn't intervene in the action he was about to do. Crosshairs marked his target. A red route was laid out.
"Do it.", rang inside of his ears. A command he must fulfill. A desire from the depths of his heart. Yoichi stopped and swung his leg...
'I am the best player on this pitch.'
and shot it at his target.
'Because I can do whatever is on my fucking mind.'
The ball flew directly at Otoya. It sailed through the air towards its destination. The forehead of the blonde. Otoya jumped up slightly and let the laws of physics to do the rest of the job. It wasn't really a header. More of a deflection, Yoichi has calculated through and through. 4:2. Team B's lead was secured even more. Only one goal was left and Yoichi had no intentions of letting someone of his teammates score it. No, that glory was already reserved for himself. He made sure of it. But that feeling, that feeling of being fuelled with adrenalin, it was strange, but it was freaking awesome and he couldn't bring himself to drop it. Quite the opposite. He wanted more. He wanted it like being addicted to crystal meth, like children longing for the candy displayed in the supermarkets, like teenage boys hoplessly begging to play video games. He wanted it and he has the power to take it."Hinata-San, I have a question regarding your current contract situation.", one of the journalists at the postgame press conference said.
"Yes?", Shoyo said and awaited for the question. Shiny lights of the cameras of the reporters came out of the darkness the journalists were siting in. Some of them slightly blinding Hinata, which on the beginning of his career was a bit annoying to him, but now? Now he was familiar with it.
"This year's season of the Brazilian Volleyball Superlega is about to near its end. So is your contract with ASAS Sao Paolo. Have you had decided on staying or leaving your current club? And if you were leaving, where would you want to go to?", the journalist with the question asked after getting the approval of the person being asked. Hinata thought for some seconds, then he spoke into the mic in front of him, "Well... up until now, ASAS hasn't given me any contract renewment offers. But, the season hasn't ended yet anyway, so yeah... I would be happy to stay here though."
"Mr. Hinata, ESPN. Rumors say that you are also interested in joining the NVA, the US volleyball league, is that true?", one of the people in the rows from further away asked. Hinata thought for some seconds. It was true that his current club hasn't offered him any contract extensions yet. However, seeing it from a general perspective, none of the other players, whose contracts are running to the end at their club from other teams haven't received theirs yet, so it wasn't the right time for them to even go into negotiation with the management. In this case he shouldn't give any detailed informations or opinions about his current job situation. It was quite antagonizing though. The waiting process, the choice. Everything. Either way. Right now he had to answer the questions of reporters and journalists.
"Well, as you said, rumours are just rumours. Till the end. I don't know how this one has emerged, but to answer your question, I have to say no. I currently don't have plans to move to the US league.", Hinata spoke. "In fact, I don't have any plans on moving anywhere. Because well, if I can stay in Sao Paolo, I'd stay. If I can't, well... guess I have to find somewhere else. That's the only answer I can give you right now."
The reporters inside the press conference room seemed to take in the answer he has just given or, judging by the fact that most of them were writing something on their blocks, tablets, laptops, they were just preparing the next blog, article or whatever thing they were going to post in the internet. Suddenly however, those reporters with tablets. No one else was asking any questions anymore.
'Strange... shouldn't this be the time where they're asking me questions?', Hinata thought and nervously took a sip from his glass of water. 'What is happening right now?'
His manager suddenly stormed in.
'What was the comotion? It's just a normal postgame interview after an away-game. What's the big emergency?'
"Hinata-San, please take a look at this!", his manager said out of breath.
