Run away little dragon

Hundreds of miles away Back at the castle of the reds, devastation arose for Dante too.. kaida was not the only one that lost her family this awful night...

"RUN DANTE! DONT LOOK BACK BOY!" the voice shouted. Dantes feet pounded against the dirt, he was running deeper into the woods. he didn't know what to think or say. all he could do is run. 'My mother was killed right in front of me. why was this happening to me. what's going on, why is Tobi not with me right now! '

his thoughts flooded his mind as the boy ran past tree after tree he panicked in his own skin. clenching the black fur coat his mother had bought him for his sixth birthday. the boy fought back tears as the cold breeze from the air hit his face, it made it even harder for him to resist.

"RUN BOY RUUN!" Tobis's voice followed with multiple screams, then suddenly an eerie roar Echoed all around Dante as he made quite a distance between him and Tobi and the soldiers his brother sent after him. Dante tripped on a piece of wood sticking up out the ground, as his body then impacted the hard ground floor of the woods. that's when he panicked even more.

    flames erupted all around him the forest he once admired was now burning to the ground. the soldiers were going to catch up to him if he didn't do anything. then suddenly out of the corner of his eyes the by slowly turned his head to the right to see a soldier wearing all red armored with the black head of the dragon imprinted on his chest raised the sword above his head. then the sword came flying down. "DIE YOU STUPID BOY!" The soldier shouted as he swung towards the kids head.

"TOBIIII!!"

~Two hours ago~

in his room, Dante was finishing up reading the book Tobi had lent him. as he finished reading the last few pages, he closed the book fast tossing it onto his bed. he jumped up from the warm sheets and gathered his black Furr coat and slipped on his slippers.

clenching the small lit candle in his hand he had picked up from the nightstand, he made his way out into the hallway. looking both ways to make sure none saw him; he turned left and made his way to Tobis chambers which were in the north tower of the castle. once at the stairs, he began to climb the scary dark staircase up, ascending into the darkness.

once at the door he knocked softly a few times. a few moments later the door creaked open revealing Tobi dressed in his sleeping attire, his glasses fixed on his bridge of his nose. tobis hair was a total mess. his brown hues looked down at the boy, his mouth forming a slight smirk.

"I'm guessing you finished the book?" Tobi asked.

"i have. Now i want to know what the moon princess has to do with me. and why my father did what he did." Dante replied with a hint of anger rising in his voice.

tobi gestured for dante tocome in as he closed the door bbehidn the two. "did anyone follow you?' tobi whispered to dante walking over to his bed side table picking up his sword. dante jjusts stood in the middle of the room and shook his head no slightly. "good." with that tobi kicked off his pajamas and got dressed in a black two set piece and began to packthings into his sachel like a few books, few potions, medical herbs and a dagger.

"You read the whole book?" Tobi asked again.

"Yes, the entire thing." the boy replied with a soft yawn. placing his hand gently over his mouth.

"Good." tobi replied and went to his closet to retrive more items.

"Now tell me tobi..who is my father and who is this moon princess?" dante question. tobi stopped rummaging through his closet, he closed the doors and sighed with his forhead on the closet for a second before turning to face dante. his brown hues staring through his glasses down at the boy. he silently stared thinking of what to say first. of course the man didnt know where to begin.
