Since the talk a month passed by. The siblings agreed on letting Klaus reduce his medications, they carefully choose which one he stops with and which one needs to be taken in the future too. Since then the color seemed to return to Klaus’ face and he had a better mood generally. He didn't switch doctors, instead Elijah promised he would be next to Klaus during every check up, and Jo was extra careful with the things she said and did too. Cami visited them every day, having mini therapy-like sessions with Klaus and hearing him out on what he wants to do in the future and they made a plan together that would be tailored by Elijah to be acceptable to everyone. Caroline, fearing the early end of her boyfriend's life, moved in with the siblings as well so she can be with Klaus as much as she wanted.

It was thanksgiving now, the big family gathering in the Mikaelson mansion stressed out the hosts as you would expect that. Rebekah was cooking all day on the week before and Elijah made sure they had enough cold soft drinks for everyone. Kol cleaned the whole house to perfection, everyone had their assigned bedroom and Kol made sure those had everything in them, from shampoo to clean towels.

The guests gathered slowly filling up the empty spaces by the table, leaving only one free. For Klaus.

-Where is our little brother, Elijah? - Finn asked

-Niklaus expressed he was tired and not hungry yet. He is sleeping in his room, supposedly peacefully.

-Can I see daddy after we ate? - Hope asked fidgeting in her seat

-Of course sweety.

The conversation slowly fall on different topics of the siblings’ life, everyone taking their turn. They found out Kol got a girlfriend, Freya and Keelin are expecting their first child together, Finn proposed to his girlfriend and they'll have the wedding next spring so Klaus has a chance to attend too. Rebekah applied to the local college for social studies, Henrik is going back to school after excelling under Kol's and Klaus’ hands at home.

Meanwhile Niklaus woke up in his room, desperately needing to use the bathroom. He felt kind of dizzy, but didn't want to bother his family so he was extra careful, he slowly got on his elbows then pushed himself into a sitting position, gently putting his legs to hang off the edge of the bed. Then he tried to lift himself to his chair. It was always the hardest part since his upper body strength wasn't top-notch and coordination skills needed polishing. It wasn't different this time either, the chair accidentally moved backwards while he was in the process of lifting himself making him fell to the ground.

His body looked more like freshly boiled spaghetti as he lied there feeling pressure in his stomach and something in his haid whistling. Something felt very off, he felt light headed and like he was going to throw up, breathless as he fought to stay conscious. Just as he was about to tip over the brink of consciousness Elijah stepped in with Hope in his hands.

He immediately put her down and she ran away, Klaus couldn't really hear what was being said, everything was muffled and his vision started to dim. He felt Elijah pulling him into a more comfortable position examining his body for any injuries. Ambulance was called and the rest disappeared for Klaus.

He woke up in the hospital, surrounded by all his siblings and of course, Hope. She was on the bed next to him cuddling to his free arm, Elijah on the other side of the bed was also sleeping. But his most hated sibling wasn't. He was facing him, looking him dead in the eye without saying a word.

-I'm... - Klaus started

-Shut it. Can't you leave us any holiday unaffected from your sickness? Can't we have just one day when we can have fun without worrying about you? - Finns voice was quiet but sent shock waved through Klaus’ veins
