All Might's Pov:

I’m sitting across from young Mirio Togata. I met young Togata when he was in junior high. I had just finished investigating a dead end on the Izuku Midoriya case when I heard a shout from a nearby alleyway.
I’d found young Togata being ganged up on by a group of kids. They were telling him how his quirk wasn’t suited to be a hero and that he should just give up. It reminded me of Izuku Midoriya.
So I intervened and admonished the students for bullying young Togata. I got to know young Togata for a few weeks after that and decided he would be the person to inherit my quirk. I revealed myself as All Might two months after training him to be a hero and gave him my quirk five months later.
At the time I had given him my quirk, Izuku Midoriya had been missing for just a year. I didn’t tell young Togata about Izuku Midoriya until he entered UA. He had told me then that he would do everything he could to save Izuku. It only reinforced my decision to have him as my successor.
Looking at him now, I can tell what a fine young man he has become. But I can see his worry. He’s worried about Hirasenshi. Ever since I told him about Hirasenshi working with us and that he was fifteen years old, young Togata has been advocating to put a stop to Hirasenshi’s vigilantism.
I can tell that this has stemmed from his drive to save Hirasenshi. Young Togata has always had a drive to save those who don’t want to be saved. I can’t fault him for that but some people need time before they are ready to be saved, Hirasenshi is just one of those people.
“Why do you think All For One was after Hirasenshi?” young Togata solemnly questions me.
I sigh, “probably because, for the past four years, Hirasenshi has put a stop to many of his operations and taken out a lot of villains under All For One’s control.”
We fall into another moment of silence before young Togata says with conviction, “I will protect him.”
Before I can reply, a call comes in on my work/teacher phone. I answer the call saying, “hello, this is All Might. How may I help you?”
“All Might, this is Tsukauchi. I’m calling because I need you to come to the mall on fortieth street. There’s been an encounter with the League where they targeted Hirasenshi-”
I cut the call and tell young Togata to follow.

Izuku’s Pov:

I just walked through the double doors of a mall. I look around in astonishment. I’ve never been to a mall. At least, no times have I remembered ever going to a mall.
I was walking alongside Uraraka and Iida and the rest of class 1-A who wanted to go to the mall to buy what supplies they needed for the summer training camp coming up.
Though, the second we all walk in, everyone deserts me to go buy what they need. I already have everything I need so I took this as an opportunity to hang out with my classmates. Even though I’m scared of what they make me feel, I still care about them and want to hang out with them.
So, since they left me, I’ve just been wandering the mall. I’ve checked out the different stores but nothing has caught my eye. Eventually, two hours have passed and I’m starting to get hungry.
I’m walking towards the food court when I all of a sudden feel a hand go around my neck. I tense. I’ve felt this before many times. The scratchy and craggy skin of his hand and fingers grated against the smooth scars on my neck.
“Make a scene and I’ll kill you. If that’s not enough, once you’re dead, I’ll kill the people in this mall. So Hirasenshi, let's have a chat,” his voice grates against my eardrums as he leads me to the nearby water fountain.
As we’re by the water fountain, Shigaraki starts spewing vile and disgusting words. He says, “you know, I don’t understand why people can be so ignorant. They rely so much on All Might that they fail to see the things right in front of them. Why!? Why do these people ignore the problems right in front of them?! Why do they get to be happy?! Why!?”
I can feel a cold sweat go down my back. Currently, I’ve still got my hair dyed with only a blindfold covering my eyes. So Shigaraki can probably see my pale and sweaty skin.
He sneers, “Heh! You scared little vigilante? You’ve been a thorn in Master’s side for quite a while. Just wait until he kills all those heroes you so dearly love. It’ll be a truly magnificent day then!”
I feel my anger resurface and make a mistake, I speak to Shigaraki, “you will never win. It’s only a matter of time before the heroes find out where y'all are hiding and when we find out, you’re all going to Tartarus prison for the rest of your lives.”
I realized my mistake too late. Shigaraki had spent the better half of two years listening to my voice, my screams. There is a chance he just recognised my voice as Izuku’s. Before anything else can happen, I hear Shinso’s voice.
“Hey! Are you alright Hirasenshi?” Because of Shinso’s approach, Shigaraki was forced to flee.
I collapse on the ground in tremors. I hear Shinso’s rapid footsteps coming toward me but I can’t react. Shigaraki might have recognised my voice! And the way he was speaking! It reminded me of myself. From what I know about Shigaraki, we both came from abusive homes. We are similar in that regard.
Our difference is that he and AFO want to destroy the people who were and are happy while they aren’t but I want to change our society for the better. My plan was to defeat AFO and the League and then work from there.
But if Shigaraki and I are that similar, then I need to watch my mental stability. I’ve always known my mentality wasn’t stable, but I’d thought it would be fine until I could put AFO and the League in the ground. Maybe that’s the bad part, I’m willing to kill AFO and the League.
I slowly calm myself enough to tell Shinso to call the Pros. I know what I have to do, that will not change. Everything will be okay. At least… I hope so.
Eventually, the pro heroes and the police arrive and evacuate the mall. A police officer starts to approach me. I recognised him as the truth quirk detective that’s been on my, Izuku’s, case for a few years now.
He asked me, “were you hurt in any way?”
I shake my head no, Shigaraki only had four fingers around my neck, not five.
“Can you explain in detail what happened, Hirasenshi?” the detective crouches down to my level.
I pull the blanket further around my shoulders. I assume someone placed it there earlier. I start, “Shigaraki, from the League, approached me from behind.”
I listened to the detective taking notes.
“He wrapped his hand around my neck but didn’t use his quirk. He then led me to the fountain in the middle of the mall and spoke to me about how much he hates the heroes and that everything was All Might’s fault. He was a little deranged, but I’m sure you already know that. He said he would kill all the heroes so I said he and the League would be caught eventually. Shinso came and then Shigaraki left,” I finished.
The detective nodded and then told me to seek medical attention for the bruise around my throat. I was surprised. I hadn’t noticed. I just nodded and slowly got up.
